My Life As A Vampire's Wife (OLD VERSION)

PART 5- The Ex / Getting To Know The Royal Family.

They all stared.

Every last one of them.

All the eyes were on the new princess to be.

Me.

"Welcome, thanks for coming." Alexander voiced boomed throughout the dining hall, "This is my bride to be. Please welcome her with open arms." It was so quite you could have heard a pin drop to the floor. I hated this attention, but I guess that's what I have to do...since I'm practically royalty now.

"She's a human, Alexander." A young girl coldly spat amongst the crowd of people sitting down. When she said that there was murmur all throughout the hall. Alexander looked at her silently. A hint of anger glinted in his eyes. "I told you, Miranda." he closed his eyes, "I can no longer continue our relationship."

My face went pale. Did I hear those words correctly?

Relationship?

Those words replayed in my mind like a cassette tape. I stared at the girl for what seemed like an eternity. She smirked as she saw me staring and in the quickness appeared in front of me. She looked at me with such hatred it made me shudder. "Watch your back, Princess." She taunted as she disappeared within thin air. My head was spinning from what just happened. I turned to look at Alexander but he had already left my side and out of the hall.

I was standing alone...with the eyes of every hungry Vampire in the castle looking at me. "Luna, please come out of your room. I want to talk to you about some things." Gabrielle spoke softly through the other side of the door. I've been in my room all day after that incident with Miranda. I haven't eaten, let alone sleep. I don't want to see anybody in this castle. I just want to return home. But no matter what I do, Jessica won't be there waiting for me...

I slumped off the bed and forced myself to move. I took a deep breath before I faced the princess of death. I opened the door slowly and gasped. Not only was Gabrielle eyes fixed on me but Alexander eyes were as well. My instincts reacted and I tried to close the door on the both of them. "Ah ah ah" Alexander stopped me from closing the door all the way, "you're coming with us." I rolled my eyes and frowned. After what happened yesterday what makes him think I want to go anywhere with him. I clenched my teeth and walked out of my only sanctuary I had in the castle.

"Tenebrous..." he started as we made our way through several corridors, "was built by our forefathers in the year 14 B.C. Our great grandfather, Count Vlad wanted the very best for us immortals. But a week before his coronation and wedding, he fell in love with a human although he was to be wed to the great grandmother of Prince Eric."

Alexander shifted his gaze to Gabrielle indicated it was her turn to talk. She nodded, "Prince Eric's great grandmother became furious, and killed the human right in front of Vlad. Our grandfather drove himself into madness. He killed Eric's great grandmother and married a human." Alexander spoke again, "But it wasn't long before their marriage our grandmother got terribly ill. And our grandfather did the only thing he knew how...to turn her into a vampire."

We walked by several pictures and they were magnificent. I stopped and admired one picture that caught my eye. A man holding a woman whose beauty was breathtaking. I couldn't help but to stare. "That's our grandmother" Alexander whispered in my ear. Her green eyes, and black hair...everything about her was just, "breathtaking."

Alexander asked for Gabrielle to leave, and she obeyed.

"Luna, come with me." Alexander called out. He took my hand in his and led me down several hallways. We came to the same door I was in when I entered the castle. He opened it slowly and walked me in. I admired the figure in front of me, and couldn't help but to smile. No matter how hard I try to run, I know he's always going to be watching me. I don't know how I feel about him at this point. One minute my heart beats fast just by us holding hands, and the next I'm scared for my life because he's not human-he's a Vampire. But if destiny binds us to be together for eternity, I'll accept it. He opened all the curtains and light flooded through the entire room exposing the City of Darkness. The sight of everything lit up was truly amazing. He stood by my side and smiled, "I need your hand in marriage. I'm not proposing just yet, but I can't rule and protect this city alone," he held out his hand "Luna please..."

I hesitated, "Why did you pick me, Alexander?"

His eyes immediately shot to the floor. He narrowed his eyes and grimaced. He spoke in a bitter tone, "I guess I should tell you..." he trailed off. He looked over at me and his eyes were a pale green color and I could see the pain, the agony in his eyes. "My mother...." He trailed off, "was a human, just like you. She was just like you, forced to be married to a- a monster you guys call us. The day before my parents wedding she fled the castle, and then had me. Of course she didn't want a monster for a son so she left me in the woods-alone. Then that's where my father found me. I know what you're thinking, I must be part human. No, my father made me so where I wasn't. I'm full Vampire...but when I look at you--"

"Your Majesty is here" a guard came in interrupting Alexander.

Alexander clenched his teeth and glared at the guard, "Next time you interrupt me, it'll cost you your life." The guard apologized many times before leaving, and Alexander grabbed my hand forcibly and led me out the room. He turned to me and frowned, "I'll have to save the rest for later. Come, let's meet my father."

It wasn't long before we were staring at a door with the royal seal on it. The gold, shinning emblem made me shutter. Alexander put his hands on my shoulders, "It's okay" he whispered in my ear. Alexander walked in front of me, and knocked on the door. The doors slowly opened revealing an old man sitting on a throne.We walked in and the doors immediately shut behind us. "Father, this is-"

Alexander got interrupted by his father, Count Luke the Third.

"So my son has picked a human..." the man scoffed.
