Twilight: A Modern Love Story [Book One]

Chapter One

I was standing on our back porch, just staring into the distance. I can't believe that we are moving, our mother got a job transfer from Phoenix, AZ to Port Angeles, WA but we bought a place in Forks. I look down and starts playing with my daylight ring. "Cody! Mom says its time to go." my sister Courtney yelled from the living room. I turn from the porch and walk inside of the house, and enter the living room through the kitchen, I pickup my bag from next to the door. My sister and I walk outside to the driveway. My mom and brother Dakota are already in the car, Dakota is in the backseat listening to music on his phone and Courtney gets into the backseat as well. I sighed as I get into the passenger seat and said, "Well, lets get going."

A couple of hours pass, and we are driving on the interstate following the movers truck, I look back in the backseat. I see my sister asleep, and my brother still listening to music as usual. I turn back around and lean my head against the window and just watch everything pass by, the day slowly turns into night and I slowly fall to sleep. When I finally woke up, it was morning and we had just entered Washington, mom pulled off and entered the drive-thru at a Bo-Jangles so we can get some breakfast. After we order our food, we start driving again, mom says we should get to Forks before nightfall.

Its 5:38pm and we just pulled into the driveway of our new home, we get out of the car and begin unloading our bags. The movers are finishing up with putting the boxes and stuff inside, the house is two stories with three bedrooms I assume the twins will be sharing. I look around before entering the house, I can see one of our new neighbors. I see a police officer, who I assume is his daughter getting out of a Crown Victoria Police Interceptor, they seem to be getting bags from the trunk. 'Atleast I won't be the only new person at school tomorrow.' I thought to myself as I enter the house, walking upstairs to my room. I start unpacking and refolding my clothes and placing them into my dresser. I find my bed sheets and blanket and make my bed before falling on it, and going to sleep.
