This Town

Introduction

Okay, so here are a first few things that you need to know about me:

One, my name is Leo. Leo Gardens. Two, I am not a boy. I get it that Leo is a guy name. And no Leo is not short for anything. My name is Leo, short and simple, and I am a girl.

Two, I'm in high school. I'm a sophomore at Fairfax High School in Los Angeles.

Three, I am not extraordinary.

Why do you need to know these three things about me? Well, the first two, I mean, no brainer. But as for the last one, well... I'm just your typical high school girl trying to get through puberty, test exams, and boys.

I go and party with my friends. I get drunk. Nothing happens. I call an uber and just go home where I fall asleep in my bed. ALONE. Not so much fun, am I right?

Nothing in my life was crazy. Nothing in my life was special. I had a mom. I had a stepdad. They fought. Stepdad yells at me, I run outside and climb a big magnolia in our backyard. No big deal, right? Right?

The magnolia was my thinking place. It had no view though because it just faced out towards our elderly neighbor's house. But it was special, to me at least. Nothing else was that special to me though. But that's where I was wrong.
