Eliza looked around, confused. She was on a area of never ending grey, the only variation a man in a dark, hooded cloak. The man was Death.

Eliza slowly walked through the grey world until she was only a few feet away from him. She stared, confused, yet calm.

Death stared back. After a few moments, he spoke in a voice that was like the cries of every dying soul, yet the whispers of the wind. His voice was everything yet nothing. Loud yet silent. He didn't really speak yet his mouth formed these words. "Eliza. This is not your end. You're early. You can not die until the final chapter of your story. You have much left to do."

Eliza looked at him strangely. "But... I'm already dead.. How can you change that?"

Death laughed, humorless, and the sound was terrifying yet beautiful in a odd way, as the thought of death is to some. "I'm Death. If I say it isn't your time, then you aren't dead."

And with those words, there was a sudden flash as the world came back, in color. Eliza had a pounding headache as all the noises came back. She was in a hospital bed, people everywhere. The moniter that showed no heartbeat suddenly spiked again as Eliza's eyes flew open and she took a sharp breath. She didn't remember how she died, she didn't remember any of the events that day, but she remembered her encounter with Death.  She looked around as if in a daze as people tried to figure out how she was alive suddenly, moments after they had given up. Then, everything seemed to rewind. To the moment she died. She was on the side of the road, a car spreading past. The car was going to hit a man. She tried to dive in the way, to push the man, her father, to safety, but, her vest friend held her back this time, squeezing her arm. Eliza watched as her father died. She still remember the encounter with death... And she realized... She wasn't meant to die, her father was... Everything got blurry, sounds dulled, as she feel to the ground, sobbing, cursing at Death because she knew he was there, invisible. She tried to make sense of it all.. But her friend calmed her down, or tried to, and brought her home, forcing her to rest.

Her friend knew of everything that had happened... Her friend was Mika... A child of Life. Eliza, unknowingly, was the child of Death.
