There it was, his new life.

It being his new high school, of course, Walker High. Keith stood in awe at the beauty of it. He knew the state of California was known for being the showboat of it all but Keith didn't think any school could look this good. Then again, he was used to the conditions in New York.

He was pushed aside by some jock who said: "Move it, freak."
Keith regained his balance before he could fall. "If only the people attending the school acted as beautiful." He mumbled as the jock walked away.
He finally had time to look around at the campus while slowly walking towards the double doors. You could see it all from where Keith was walking; all the cliche cliques n such. Some students were in a rush and the others just stood and gossiped. Keith heard a girl badmouthing another as he walked past. He really couldn't help but roll his eyes. Seeing as everything was starting to be so cliche he'd assume that in order to top it off, he will be a walking 'bully me' target from here on out.

He managed to make it into the school after getting pushed and shoved by other students. Keith stared at the ground once he got into the actual building. He's avoiding any eye contact with any other student while trying to get to the administration office.

After a while of wandering lost, Keith decides to take his chances. He glances up, and there it was! A clear sign in bold lettering labeled 'Administration'. Although, Keith took a little too much time returning his eyesight to the ground when some guy surrounded by a fairly large amount of students caught his attention. He stared for a while, trying to get a full facial profile of the guy surrounded. For a couple of seconds, there was a clearing and he saw him. In the middle of all the other students, stood a guy who anyone would consider rather attractive. Lightly tanned skin and clear blue eyes. His hair was pretty average with a shade of a semi-light brown. Keith rolled his eyes and shuffled to the office. He figured who he saw was the popular jock every girl wanted and every guy was friends with. As if he had time for people who have it good in high school.

The actual administration didn't take long, Keith was in and out of there pretty quick so he was off to his first period already. Math. He didn't mind math like most students though, it wasn't too hard or too easy. It was just there and it was do-able.

Keith took a seat in an empty chair. Some students were already there and waiting for the class to start while most desks were empty. That is, until the bell rang. A flood of students came in and they were all rather chatty. The teacher, Mr. Holt, shushed them quickly.

"Students." The teacher called out, capturing mostly everyone's attention. "We have a new student in our class today." Mr. Holt looked over at Keith and signaled him to stand up. Once he did, he heard a student mumble "What is this? 4th grade?" followed by a series of giggles. The teacher simply shook his head and nodded for Keith to sit down. "Just treat him with respect." The class agreed in unison. "Now, let's get started with today's lesson." Everyone groaned as a response but the teacher shushed them and started the lecture.

2:12 PM

Keith's day was passing on just fine, no one teased him- well not a lot anyway. He walked into his Geography class and to his surprise, he was the first there. "Nice." He mumbled and sat in a seat in the back of the class; sitting at the back was a preference. Keith took the free time to take his stuff out when a voice startled him. "Oh? The new student's first in class. There's something you wouldn't expect." Keith looked up to see a teacher leaning against their desk with a mug of coffee in hand. "I'm your geography teacher, Mr. Shirogane." The teacher waved. "Oh! Um, hello Mr. Shirogane." Keith said a bit nervously. Mr. Shirogane picked up on the student's nerves and decided to give him a reassuring smile which Keith couldn't help but return.

Students started filing into the class and when the bell rang, so did the rest of them. However, this specific group of students coming in was being louder than the past 6 classes. "What's got them excited?" Keith said a little louder than intended and right when the words escaped his mouth, someone answered him. "You have 7th period with Prince charming."  Keith looked over at the person responsible for the answer. Right next to him sat a kid buried in some book about aliens. Keith cocked a brow.

"Aren't you too young to be in this Geography class?"

"I may be a freshman but I definitely know more than you, and that goes for both social and academic wise." They said lowering their book and furrowing their eyebrows.

"Oh, uh sorr-"

"Don't sweat it, you aren't the first. I'm Katie but please, call me Pidge."

They smiled and Keith returned the smile with an awkward side one. "I'm Keith."

"By the way 'Prince Charming' is best known as Lance Mcclain." They nodded towards the boy who was now visible since the crowd around him dispersed. Keith recognized him, it was the kid from the hallway. "Nice to put a name to the face." He replied in a near growl.

"Oh, you're acquaintances?" Pidge asked with a raise of the brow.

"Huh? Oh, no. I just saw him in the hallways earlier. He caught my eye."

"How could he not? That kid is popular. Not my problem." Pidge picked their book back up.

"It's the looks, isn't it?" Keith asked, not removing his eyes from Lance.

"Well, yes but he's also the school's player. He has tried every girl in the grade at least once. I can't believe girls don't pick up on it. It's gross."

"Player huh?" Back at Keith's old school, there was only one player around; Lotor.  However, at least the girls in his old school knew that. Keith despised Lotor, therefore players. Any player is a dick. That's a fact.

3:23 PM
Keith opened the door to his apartment and flopped on his bed. While laying face planted in his bed, he let the silence in the apartment grow suffocating. As a foster child, he was able to leave the home once 18 and he saw California as a decent place. So here he was, in California, in a decent apartment, alone. Although the school does seem nice other than a few people. Keith could get used to it.
