Coffee for two
One for me
One for you
Would you like some tea?
No, thank you
Just coffee for two
Cuddles and kisses
Warm embraces
Endless blisses
You love me
I love you
Coffee for two

She finished writing the short poem, tapping her pen against the table. The bustling café around her seemed to get even more energized at the rythym of her thoughts. Sighing, she stared at the barista. He quickly took orders as the coffee machine steamed, people coming in and out of the door. Some were on their way to work, others to school. All of them were hoping for their daily dose of caffeine.
A young couple sat by the window, sipping latte's and chatting. She realized how lonely it felt to not love anyone, as her gaze fell back on the handsome bartender. At one fluttering moment, his eyes met hers. Her heart seemed to stop, a huge ice cube settling in her stomach. She glanced away quickly, hoping he didn't catch her staring.
A few moments later, the waiter brought her a small note, written on the back of an old receipt. She opened it, her heart beating rapidly. A cute winky face greeted her through the paper, making her grin. "My shift ends in 5 minutes. Can you wait?" Was written on the bottom of the paper. She looked up and met the barista's gaze. Nodding, she folded the note and slipped it in her purse. He smiled charmingly and went back to work.
Even in such a bustling place, the five minutes seemed to drag on forever, making it difficult for her to wait. She squirmed in her seat, glancing at her watch every two seconds, impatiently anticipating meeting him. Finally, it was 7:30, exactly five minutes after the message found it's way to her.
Two steaming cups of coffee were set in the table in front of her, a handsome smirk greeting her as the man sat down. "I hope that you like it black." She smiled and took the coffee from him. "I only take it like this." As she sipped the dark liquid, he stirred sugar into his.
"So... Who are you?" He inquired, after sipping his own drink. She leaned forward slightly, swirling her cup with a motion. "A lonely poet hoping for free coffee." She smirked and finished the beverage with a final sip. Nodding her head, she walked away. The stunned barista could only stare a she triumphantly took off.
