"Shit, guys. Forests creep me out. Almost every horror story happens in this exact type of situation." I muttered as we walked along the trail to the campsite, hearing Mika giggle in reply. Damion has suggested a short camping trip and Mika had insisted until I gave in. "Whatever, stop complaining." Damion said. "At least we have stuff for s'mores!" Mika smiled, holding up a bag of marshmallows in one hand and chocolate in the other. "Plus we can go swimming in the lake." Damion added. I scoffed and looked away. I could feel the mood go from upbeat to depressing in a split second. "What's wrong with that idea?" Damion asked, obviously confused. Mika looked over at Damion, and then to me, and back to Damion. "So, he doesn't know?" Mika asked, frowning. "Know what?" Damion asked, yelling at this point. "What is it? What do I not know?" I simply shook my head. "Doesn't matter. You guys can go, I'll just stay at the campsite when you do. "Dude, why?" Damion continued to pry. "That doesn't matter." I replied. "Are you like afraid of the water or something? Because when we were younger you-" I turned around and rolled up the sleeve of my hoodie, exposing my scars. "That's why." I growled. Damion stared in shock and Mika looked away, uncomfortable. "Why would you-"

"Because I couldn't stand that I'd let you do that to Alina." I said, cutting him off again. Damion sighed. "Well, really, it doesn't matter. Not many people come out here, so nobody would see except us." He said. I noticed a thin scar on his neck, and small burns and cuts on his hands. He shoved his hands back in his pocket, noticing me looking at them. "C'mon, it's getting dark already. Let's get back to camp and roast marshmallows or some shit." He said, walking ahead of me and Mika. We followed quietly behind him until we reached the campsite. Me and Damion set up the two tents, while Mika unpacked all of our backpacks. By the time we all finished, it was dark, so we got out the marshmallows, chocolate, and graham crackers and lit the campfire so we could roast marshmallows. After a few s'mores we were all pretty tired, so we all went back to our tents- me and Damion to ours, and Mika to hers.
