CHAPTER SIX
“So, what’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done in your whole life Aly?”
I heard Denden said that before she giggles uncontrollably. I keep my eyes shut for a moment. I think my body’s nervous system was still on its shock stage. It doesn’t seem to respond of what happened a minute ago. Failed stimuli, I guess. So okay, for the record, Denden Lazaro just gave me a kiss. My first decent kiss for that matter. Hindi sa hindi pa kami nagkiss ni Jovee pero lahat kasi ng moment na yun puro panakaw lang, lahat smack lang. I believe na merong tamang panahon para sa mga ganung bagay and Jovee respected me for that. She was still helplessly giggling on the bed when I open my eyes. My mind told me, at last gumana na ang brain ko, na I should get angry at Den, but my body opposed on doing that. Feeling ko walang lalabas sa bibig ko kung pagsasalitaan ko siya, at walang lakas etong mga braso ko kung sasampalin ko sya. Siguro she noticed na nakatingin ako sa kanya, she suddenly open my Iphone, na kanina nya pa pala hawak hawak, then she leaned closer to me.
“Great shot here Ly”. Sabay pakita sa akin nung picture naming dalawa kanina. KISSING. The shot even made us worse because we seemed like were having a good time. Sinong magsasabing may foul play na naganap?
“Told ya, may evidence ako.”, she exclaimed after handing out my phone to me. “Keep it. Bawal i-delete ah”.
My hands were already shaking when I tried to open my phone and searched for that photo again. Wow, so its true nga, I smiled bitterly. I should be emotional right now. I should yell at her. I should slap her. But no, I just remained silent. Nahihiya ako sa ginawa namin. I know this was just a silly game for her pero hindi para sa akin. I maybe too old fashioned considering that, but its not fun for me.
“How can you still be cool after doing that?”, I didn’t know na lumabas pala yun sa bibig ko. Questions like that were floating on my mind like a bird trap in a cage waiting to be release.
“What, Aly?”,she replied. “That kiss?”
She didn’t wait for my answer.
“OMG Aly, are you affected? Kaya ka ba nanahimik? Silly. What happened kanina was just pure fun. There’s nothing to worry about. Look, even Britney, Cristina and Madonna did that for fun, remember?”, she said with a grin. Im a big fan of those.
“Its not fun for me.” I said firmly.
“Galit ka ba? Look, Im sorry, okay? Akala ko kasi okay lang sayo”, she put her arms around me.
“I hope there never is a next one like that.” I said quietly.
She stifled a yawn. “Im too tired to argue with you, Aly. I didn’t get a whole lot of sleep last night you know. So matulog na tayo.” Alam kong hinila na nya kamay ko.
Pero nanatili pa rin akong hindi gumagalaw mula sa pagkakaupo ko.
“Ly, Im really sorry. If you want you can delete those photo. I don’t care about the evidence anymore, basta wag ka lang magalit sa akin.”
“Goodnight Den. Bukas na lang uli tayo mag-usap”. I suddenly don’t wanna talk to her for awhile. Narinig ko na lang siyang napabuntunghininga. Siguro nag-alangan din siya sa akin kasi hindi siya sumiksik after kong humiga. She was now sleeping soundly facing the other side of the room. Usually naman kasi sumisiksik sya sa akin pagnakahiga na ako. Ginagawa nyang unan yung braso ko kaya minsan ang sakit ng braso ko pagkagising. I looked at her once more bago ko tuluyang ipikit ang mga mata ko.
As I closed my eyes, the memories flooded back into my mind. I remembered the feeling of her lips to mine. I remembered the photo in my phone. How my eyes closed and how Denden tilted her head just to had that right angle. Hindi ko rin maipaliwanag kung ano etong kakaibang nararamdaman ko. And I don’t know why, this strange feeling surely scared the shit out of me.
