"F-F-Freeze!" I shouted shakily while hovering my shaking hand over my pistol. He slowly rose from the floor, fresh blood coated his skin like fresh paint. "What's wrong officer? Murder got your tongue?" Hd asked snickering lowly. He noticed my hands were shaking and smiled thinly and started drawing closer to me. I quickly whipped out my pistol and held it towards him. "You won't do it...You may be the top in your force but you're still a rookie on the inside." He said gripping the end on my pistol and held it to his forehead. "I-I-I will shoot you... D-Don't test me..." I stammered and quickly swallowed the saliva that gathered in my mouth. "Then what's stopping you?" He asked in a whisper that sent chills down my spine. He suddenly disappeared and reappeared behind me, and slowly wrapped his arms around my neck. "I can smell the fear reaking off of you." He said gliding his neck across the nape of my neck. My body shivered uncontrollably as a moan formed in the back of my throat. Red and blue flashing lights painted the night sky, "I'll see you later officer." He whispered again and gently nibbled the bottom of my ear. And with that he was gone my legs finally have out on me, "What's wrong with me?" I thought in a panic staring at my gun that was a few inches away from my fingertips. A couple minutes passed and four officers burst into the room and surrounded, “You okay?” One asked lowering his weapon and shined his flashlight that was at the end of his gun at me. “Yeah, I lied and slowly rose from the floor. “Where did the suspect go?” An officer behind the first asked as I dusted myself off. “He caught me by surprise and knocked me out,” I lied and picked up my gun and placed it back inside the holster. “You should get checked out by medical.” The first officer suggested as I waved my hand at him, “I’m fine really.” I said again, following them out. I chewed my bottom lip the whole ride back to the station so bad it started bleeding. Blood exploded on my tongue making me jolt with shock, I placed my finger on my lip and pulled away finding a small droplet of blood on my finger. I wiped the blood away with the back of my hand leaving a small streak of red across it, “Corix! Office now!” Mr. Huntsman shouted across the station, some of the officers snickered and whispered to each other as I walked to his office. As I entered the office I slowly closed it behind me, “WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED OUT THERE! YOU HAD ONE JOB! APPREHEND THE SUSPECT AND BRING HIM IN!” He shouted slamming the hefty file on his desk. “H-H-He caught me from behind sir…” I said in a low voice, “NO EXCUSE! DO YOU NOT WANT YOUR PROMOTION!?” He shouted again, “I do!” I argued. “Last chance...One more slip up and I will have to relive you of your badge and gun and give the promotion to Smitty.” Mr. Huntsman said holding up a finger, ‘BUT HE MESSES UP MORE THAN I DO! HE’S A KLUTZ!” I shouted back...wrong move. “HE DIDN’T LET A MURDER GET AWAY!” He shot back. I growled silently and formed a fist by my side. I stormed out of the office and slumped in my chair, “Damn it” I cursed under my breath and took a shaky breath. “I didn’t let him get away…” I growled and swiped some papers off my desk out of frustration, I stared at my blank computer screen for a few seconds before pushing myself out of my chair and left the station.
