Colton's POV

"It's fucking cold out here Seaney."

"No shit Sherlock."

"And to think I wanted to be stationed in fucking Texas where it's warm. No, I let your sorry ass talk me into going to Italy so we could try and be some fucking heroes or some shit."
That was Justin for you always cussing me out for talking him into some dumb idea. But I do have to admit Italy in February is fucking cold, especially when you're laying in a dam fox hole scared to death you'll wake up to your dead friend.

"You didn't have to come," I say.

"Ah please, we all know if I wasn't here to make sure you wipe your ass, you'd be dead right now. Anyway I was ready to get out of Gruver America it's not like anything ever happens there" Justin said with a grin.

Justin and I grew up in the Texas Panhandle where the wind blows nonstop and it can be 110 degrees one day and -40 the next.

Then the day that dam army recruiter came to the school, should've known he was full of sh*t when he convinced Matthew to sign up. What was it he said again, oh ya 'do you want to see the world and get paid for it? Well then join the Army. We'll teach you a trade and you can see the sights of the 7 continents.' He never said I'd be stuck in a dam foxhole standing in freezing rain.

"Moreno and Seaney get your Texas ass's over here." I heard the Major holler.
"Yes sir" I say more out of habit then respect when we approach him.

"The 45th infantry is short handed y'all we'll be hooking up with them and heading to England."

"England sir?" Justin asked.

"Yes Moreno, England, did I stutter?"

"No sir."

"Ok then get on that truck smart ass, you to Seaney"
