My mind drifted from left to right slowly settling itself into unconsciousness. my brain slowly relaxed a little at a time, somehow it felt like my body was floating on water. My senses seemed to be heightend, allowing me to feel the smallest hair's on my body with full awareness. My (H/C) hair seemed to move like tentacle's around me, like they had a life of their own. I rocked back and forth like a piece of drift wood in the middle of the sea, going wherever the current took me.
Ever so slightly, I gradually started to realize I was changing course on the waves of my subconscious. Slowly but surely it felt more, and more like my destination was being influenced. Before i knew it, I was being washed up and gently placed by the warm waves on to a cold, hard surface. Instictivly I started to feel the ground around me with my finger tips, I frowned internally at the rough, sharp, coarse-textered surface my fingers came into contact with. Reluctantly I pushed myself up from the unpleasantly-hard ground that my body lay upon.
I opened my eyes, and turned my head to look around in each direction. To my surprise I wasn't on a rocky shore but a long stretch of road in either direction. There were tall dark forest tree's surounding the long strip of road, that I had found myself nestled in the middle of.
I was feeling slightly uneasy from the unsettling aura around me, and within me. against my better judgement I got up and I started to walk around, I decided to go forward down the long stretch of road to try to get some clue as to were I was at. I turned my head from left to right in an attempt to better myself with my surroundings. I observed that down each length of the road The tree's that laced it's edges were knitted together almost like a living wall, and at first glance somewhat endless to my naked eye. Turning my head from the road and its borders, I looked into the sky hoping to see the clear blue heavens above my head, only to be disappointed by the sight of a dark, cloudy, grey sky that loomed menacingly overhead. After taking in some of the scenery before me I stopped and said "where in the hell am I?" out loud to seemingly no-one, how did I get here? I thought to myself.
Progressively questions begin to race throughout my mind, the longer I lingered here. I found myself realizing that only a few minutes ago I remember feeling like i was drifting on water? "No no no I-I need to remember what happened before that". Wait.....i-i remember I was shopping, I had left the store, I was on my way home, then.... I had heard a noise?... then I turned around then.. then a-all black... really (Y/N) that's all you remember?? This is a bad time to be forgetful!! There has to be more?!? I started to rub my temples angrily trying to rush my already frantic brain into giving me some well needed answers. In a matter of second's, panic grips a hold of me interrupting my thinking process. As I was frantically looking around for clues in my mind that would lead to a solution. I suddenly felt more aware of how small I was compared to the tall wall of tree's that encompassed me and the road in both directions.
It became hard to breath as I thought of the endless possibilities to try and explain my whereabouts. what if I was drugged? Or I sleeped walked here, is that even possible?!! the more I panicked the more I heard ringing my ears and a tight sensation in my cheast, I closed my eyes in an attempt to help slow my breathing and begin takeing deep breaths to calm my beating heart. Oh grandma what would you do in this situation? my grandma's words as if on comand start to play like a recording in my head of some of the advice she was always telling me "(Y/N) stay calm in messy scenarios panicking will only make things worse for you and your situation" she used to tell me this when I was little whenever I was afraid or when I caused trouble and tryed to lie to her, that I dident do whatever she accused me of. I really wished I had listened to her more and what she was always spouting at me, now that I am actually in a mess.
