Out of nowhere a guard grabbed my wrist and pulled me down the hall, the direction of the dining hall.

"Don't touch me!" I yelled, ripping my hand out of his grasp. The guard's cold eyes met mine, but he said nothing, and decided against starting something, leading me again.

He opened the door, and I found that the dining hall was full of Neuros, some other species that looked furry, and four or five humans. And the noise! Many specimen were yelling, the rustling of paper, and the slamming of feet sounded teen times louder in the hall. I covered my ears and followed the guide.

The specimen moved aside so we could get to the entrance, a could pointed at me, and their partners would nod, or look down at papers they held. Did the Attachment really need this many people participating?

We got out of the capitol and I saw a crap ton of vehicles, most of which had no wheels, so I assumed they could float. The guard boarded a white vehicle, similar to the one I took coming here, but larger. I stepped on and saw- A girl?

She was obviously human, there was no doubt, and she was pretty. She had long shiny black hair tied in elegant pigtails, and bangs just above her dazzling blue eyes. It looked like the sleeves of her prisoner clothes (striped horizontally black and white like mine) had been ripped off, so the straps left were about three fingers thick.

I sat down in front of her (there was a guard seated next to both of us) and she said hello. "Hey" was my only reply.

The vehicle began and it's rocking felt familiar. We sat in silence until she extended her hand and said, "My name's Yumeni, nice to meet you."

Her voice was high and clear. I shook her hand.

"Corruption. The pleasure's all mine."

I could tell she was curious about my name, but I ignored it. If she was too shy to ask about it that was her problem.

"I wonder what the Attachment's gonna be like?" she started, trying to engage in a conversation that so far didn't exist. I shrugged and looked instead at the landscape zooming by us.

She mumbled something about the Attachment and then asked, "What do you think about our situation?"

"What do you mean?"

"Well, I though we might as well start thinking about things before it starts so we're more prepared...We don't start with food or water do we?"

I didn't know.

"Oh, by the way," she said, looking at me, "i was put into this because I'm really good at fixing and healing...and things of that nature."

At this, I froze.

Why was she telling me this? Didn't' she know this could put her in danger? Was she that confident she wouldn't die? Was she just trying to gain my trust?

"Why are you telling me this?!" I yelled, almost standing up! She looked surprised.

"I thought since we're both not killers, it'd be fine!" she said, sounding a little hurt.

"How do you know if I'm not a killer?" I asked suspiciously.

"Well I thought that the Neuros would probably put the killers together for organizational purposes, and they probably didn't want them to say anything about their positions. You know how stupid they think we are!" Yumeni explained, understanding I didn't mean to offend her.

"Still, what if you're wrong?"

"Then I'm wrong. It's just a theory, but that's why I trust you. And besides, you're being really careful, which tells me you're afraid that I might be a killer." she laughed, "Oh, but you don't have to tell me why you're here if you don't want to."

I kept quiet and kept my head down. There was no way in hell she could be a killer. So i trusted her. But I wondered what happened her in her past to make her to trusting of other people. Maybe kindness? Maybe ignorance?

Yumeni, huh? She was an interesting person.
