A classroom sits at their desks busily working on a test. Around the room hang posters of the solar system and facts about the planets, a periodic table, the structure of atoms and a diagram of the stages of plants. On the wall a clock ticks while students and the teacher glance at it. Every pencil danced on paper frantically except for one. This pencil sat on the groove at the end of the desk while a 17 year-old male was texting and playing a phone game.
The bell rang and this boy crunched up his paper and threw it on the floor and kicked it away while other students quickly stood up and turned in papers into a paper on the teachers desk. Mr. Cander addressed some students of some questions while the young man started thumbing through the basket and pulled out a finished test without a name on it. He quickly wrote his name on it and put back in. He turned around and began his journey out of the room and to his next class.
He took a few steps into the crowded hallway when a hand landed on his shoulder and a familiar voice caused him to groan. "Chad, what you did was so uncool."
Chad turned around and saw a lanky blonde student wearing a tee shirt under an unbuttoned dress shirt. In his armpit was a blue trapper keeper that was well organized and even though it was old, it was in great condition. This was his childhood friend since the First Grade, Bryce.
"Saying 'uncool' is uncool." Chad retorted rolling his eyes.
"Somebody who probably studied really hard-"
"Nobody actually studies,dude."
Bryce shook his head. "-paid more attention than you or -hey- actually did the test is going to get a zero because you stole his work."
Chad shifted his feet to turn around, "Well, he should've put his name on the paper."
Bryce let go. "I can't let you get someone failed. I'm going to tell Mr. Cander."
Chad lifted his voice."You're just doing this because I'm gay, aren't you?!"
Bryce tilted his head back wide eyed. "What are you-"
A few other students stepped beside Bryce and got into his face. "What the fuck do you have against gay people?"
Bryce got nervous and angry and gestured toward his friend. "He's not gay."
The student shoved him against the wall and shouted, "Who the fuck are you to decide who he is!?" A couple other students gathered around him and started shouting at him with vigor. He turned around and walked past Chad and quickly walked to his next class.
The student turned to Chad, "There is nothing wrong with you, man. You're perfect the way you are. Just ignore that intolerant bigot." He half raised his hand for a high five and Chad didn't leave him or the students hanging with a victorious smile on his face.
A teacher stood in front the class giving a lecture on genital herpes to a large class. He explained how the virus affects the body and referred to the pictures that were shown on a packet he handed out. Many students listened engaged while some others zoned out picturing what was being described while one or two were afraid if what happened a few nights ago was such a good idea after all.
However, two students sat next to each other talking quietly. One was a pale white boy with a shaved head, rosy cheeks and was wearing a clothes that were a size or two too large. He carried the slight smell of cigarettes on his clothes. This was Andy.
His friend was taller, good looking with lightly gelled dark hair. He had a white tee shirt with a picture of a model in a bikini on it. His shoes were well kept and his jeans were without stains. He looked toward the other side of the classroom where a girl name Kelly looked and smiled sheepishly at him. This is Chase.
