My father has just returned from a long, exhausting day of driving for the biggest taxi company in New York. I had gotten out of school about 4 hours ago, but when I arrived home, my mother was already preparing dinner.
"What is it tonight Ma?" I asked.
"Pasta with alfredo sauce and garlic bread," she answered.
"Mmm sounds good," I replied.
"Oh, I almost forgot, your brother is coming home from college this week," she added.
I hadn't seen my brother in 2 years, ever since he graduated high school. He's 21, but he had to stay back a year. I always looked up to him. Mostly because he was so much older than me, and I knew he was full of wisdom and experience.
"Great..." I said hastily before she could detect the nervousness in my voice.
"Wonderful!" my father butted in. He had always liked my brother, Zac, more than me.
I was pretty anxious, I had something big to tell him, along with the rest of my family; and I had no idea how they would take it.
