Snake saves the Baker from the wires after the ninja leaves

"Can you talk" Snake asked Baker as he helped him down
"Who are you" Baker asks
"I'm not one of them, the D.A.R.P.A Chief told me he gave them his detonation code, What about yours."
"Oh I get it, Jim sent you, you're from the Pentagon." he said realizing what was going on

"Answer my question!" Snake said firmly, "What about your Code, there's no time" Snake was getting frustrated
"I.. Talked"
"What! Now the terrorists have both codes, and can launch anytime!" Snake was now stressing
"It's not like I didn't fight it" he rushed to defend himself.
"I managed to resist Psycho Mantises mind probe."
Snake was surprised

"He couldn't read you, how did you do it"
"Surgical implants in my brain."
"Surgical Implants?"
"Kind of like a Psychic insulation, everyone who knows these top secret codes has it."

Then Snake remembered back at the D.A.R.P.A Chief said

"Even the D.A.R.P.A Chief"
"Yes of course."
"But the Chief said Mantis got the code by reading his mind."

Snake was confused, but his training had taught him there had to be a rational reason.

"Are you sure you heard him right?" Baker asked also confused
"Yeah, I'm sure, on that case how did they get your code?"

Baker took a pause

"I never had any training on how to resist torture."

"Looks like he had fun with you alright." Snake inquired

"Oh he's not human, I tell you he loved every second of it"
"What happened to your arm"
"He broke it"
"Looks like your more than even now, his was sliced off"

Baker let out a chuckle

"So the D.A.R.P.A Chief is he okay" Baker asked
"Dead" Snake answers
"What! You Pentagon bastard!
"Calm down! I just told you I was here to save you."
"Anyway the terrorists have both codes now, what do they really want."
"Who knows, maybe there like us and always looking forward to the next war."

And just like that, Snake blinked and saw he was not in the same place. He lay on a rock surrounded by water. It appeared to be some kind of cave.

"Baker" he muttered

Snake instinctively rolled off the rock into the water, he had no idea where the hell he was, but he knew one thing. Bullets means run.

Maybe this was Psycho Mantises way of making him hallucinate, however there was no time to think, his Soldierly instincts came in, he got up out of the water onto the rock, and aimed his gun at the Man who shot at him
