I sighed rather loudly having to watch Archie and V coo over one another passionately, I wanted that I thought as I looked over to Jughead, he hadn't approached me all day and was instead sat with the serpents cackling away. My head boggled as I sat solemnly, Archie knew something was wrong as he carefully grinned at me from across the table whilst Veronica discussed her father. "I gotta go" I said leaping up from the table and grabbing my back pack swinging it round my shoulder "ouch" I heard someone hiss, I turned to see Reggie, his tongue slyly sipping his bottom lip as he looked me up and down. I swiftly ignored him hitting him slightly harder before grinning amicably before pondering off. I found myself alone in the hallway, a hallway that has seen many horrific moments, as my hands traced the lockers I thought back to his words, a darkness ay I thought. I know I can be cruel, I know I can be the devil with a ponytail and a Peter Pan collar but can I kill, yes. Yes I can.
As I paced around the school, I felt haunted and scared like I knew the conclusion of this horrific story was not yet met or even made. Suddenly as I stared out down the empty hallway,I felt a hand on my shoulder "shit" I breathed "hey" said Arch with a small smile "you ok?" he asked I could see worry in his eyes, I smiled and nodded "fine" I said "I may be a lad but I can tell there is something wrong with you, I've known you forever Betts" I nodded "fine" "hey, how about you come round mine later, we can watch films and. build a fort like when we where little, just us two yeah?" I grinned "yeah I'd like that" he hugged me holding me tightly to his chest "I know its hard" "Arch I'm scared, what if he's right" Archie distanced himself and shook his head "Betts stand there and tell me about how you would kill him" he instructed I shook my head in shock "I would never, I could never" he grinned "and there is your answer, when we where younger and you where a walking 500 facts for kids book you informed me many people with a need to kill know and fantasise about how they are going to kill" I smiled and chuckled before he pulled me back into the hug. His arms where so tight around me, I felt tears linger however quickly blinked them away when I heard the echoing bash of hells coming closer and closer "uh hello" scowled V.
I smiled and nodded, I could see the jealousy and worry bubbling in Veronicas eyes the same mix of emotions I felt when I saw Toni stood so closely beside Jughead. Now I realise that fear was irrational but Veronica hasn't and that unsettles me. She was mysterious but I knew that now, I knew my trust had been mislaid and that I was mislead by this idea that she was someone of greatness and beauty in comparison to me. I know you shouldn't talk of a close friend like that but since the Lodge's plan was released alongside her input I realised my own naivety and that simply a song and some cupcakes flown in from wherever was not enough to conceal the truth or the reality. "Whats going on?" she asked, smiling half heartedly "nothing just hugging it out" said Archie "hugging what out?" she queried further "Betty needed hug, so I gave her one" she nodded "oh ok" was all she could muster as I nodded in compliance. "Anyway Archiekins I need to borrow you is that ok Betty?" she asked her tone had a nastiness that I had never heard before, "of course sorry aha I'll catch you later Arch" he nodded and mouthed 'sorry' before waving as V totted off. What was going on, I thought to myself.
The day went on and soon the bell rang and the sea of teens enveloped the corridors hurriedly. Kevin quickly took hold of my arm dragging me from he class room "come on come on I need to go" I grinned "where, you have another yanno wink wink" he chuckled "you're too innocent" I grinned "that was so boring" I howled as we stumbled out the school, Archie waved at us and we soon joined forces the 3 of us walking down the street together in a mini huddle. "So Kev you're quite the wrestler" said Arch he chuckled "oh yeah, see here you are thinking your so macho I could've yanno done all the hero stuff most definitely" He chuckled "Anyway I shall see you guys" said Kevin grinning as he opened the door to Fangs car and climbed in beside him.
