Starting a story is probably the hardest thing to do besides ending it, yet our story will begin, with however bad this start may be. Once upon a time in a planet previously named "Earth" lives a young boy around the age of 14 who would always like to play with his friends on the holo-net and have conversations with his robot friend named "L.O.M." Which stands for Lazy Old Machine. This young boy I speak of is the creator of L.O.M. since he was so bored that one day he programmed a robot with its own specific A.I. so that it could have typical conversations with the person it wanted to talk with. When I say, "with the person it wanted to talk with" I mean that it will not engage conversation even if you are talking, screaming, shouting, or smashing it with a bat.(and yes this boy did try smashing L.O.M. in the face repeatedly with a bat to see if L.O.M. would respond.) I almost forgot to introduce our main character! The young boy I have been speaking so much of is named, "Reginald The Fifth", or "Reggie". Reggie was a young engineer, as most people are nowadays in the year 2XXX, most jobs have been passed of as mere memories. The only jobs that people are looking for are coders, hackers, technicians/engineers, and repairmen (though repairmen are soon getting replaced with more sophisticated technology, such as machines.) Reggie never thought much more of his future since machines had already taken over most of it. Even though to most readers this may seem unnatural Reggie worked a part time job in a minor company that repaired/made prototypes for the major companies. Their company was called "GenTech, The next generation of technology!" The only thing Reggie did was work, eat, play the newest games, and finally sleep. There were alway new games coming out every day with the increased population and coders/designers. Speaking of jobs and video games, house designers, carpenters, and other jobs that worked on houses were now not an option as a job since the holo-net had made physical holograms made with mini light bots that would fly and model the model that you created on the holo-net, including colors and materials since light bots are affordable and easy to make, there are always constant updates to make them better, such as adding new materials/colors. Reggie did nothing an unnatural person would do. Reggie would just continue his cyber life by getting his daily teachings from online tutors everyday. He would never have to leave his room since he had everything there and there was no point in going shopping since he could order hovermail. So here is where Reggie is and this is where his story begins...
