I pulled Jacklyn into a hug and I felt tears swelling in my eyes and one slipped down my check. I glanced down at my hand and stared at it as if it was going to do something, but it didn't. I pulled away from my sister and wiped my eyes then turned her around to walk out of the bathroom and when she turned I saw her back and I felt myself gasoing. Her once smooth skin was red and marked with healing scars.

My fists balled and my jaw clenched. That… bitch of a mother! How dare she!

And Jacklyn probably read my mind or something because she said, "They don't hurt as much anymore.”

“That is not an exuse!” I felt myself yelling. Then a big bang came from the front of the house making us both jump at the same time.

Uh, oh. My eyes went wide. Greg was home.

"Greg,” Jacklyn said in fear.

My heart jumped, but I pushed aside my fearful feelings knowing I had be strong. I forced myself to forget my glowing eyes and the lights that escaped my body for a moment, and I dragged Jacklyn out of the bathroom. "Quick, get as much as you can in your bag. We're leaving." I yanked my school bag off the floor and dumped everything out, keeping only my portscreen and my drawing pen in.

Running to the side wall I pressed my hand on the open drawer button and  rummaged through the metal drawers that came out of the wall. Pulling out the few clothes I had I shoved them in my bag and shut it closed before shoving some other things inside.

Out of the corner of my eyes Jacklyn slipped on her suit goldring. From her wrist a black and green suit ran up her arm like water and covered her body. She then slid on some clothes as fast as she could over the suit and swung her blue bag over her shoulder.

I snatched my black scarf from under my pillow and made sure that my M-card was in the side pocket of my bag. Turning to oversee the room, checking to see if I forgot something, and saw Jacklyn holding her bag over her shoulder, standing with a clueless look upon her face. A tinge of pain hit my heart but there was no time to explain, we had to leave.

“Darling?” I heard Greg call.

I quickly snatched my cloak and swung it around me, latching the clips of it together. Slidding into my pair of black boots I dashed to the window bringing along Jacklyn. Putting in the combination to open window I moved to the side and made Jacklyn jump out first.

I got halfway out the window with a leg already hanging off the edge when a realization hit me. The dress!

I looked back into my room. The footsteps of Greg wondering the house hit my ears. Not wanting to think twice I jumped back into the room as quick as I could and snatched the ripped material off the floor, catching sight of dust blowing up into the air. Hearing heavy footsteps coming right up the hall I almost froze but I didn’t. Hurrying back to the window I heaved my legs back over the edge. Jacklyn was already on the ground and moving to the side allowing me to jump out. I jumped the four feet to the ground and landed in a squat. Standing, I turned back giving one last glance at our past and I felt a frown plaster over my lips.

Spinning on my heel I fitted my hood over my head and my bag's strap over my shoulder. Then gently snatching Jacklyn’s hand I pulled her along with me up the street. Adrenaline zoomed through my veins.

My mind was clouded with many different thoughts but the only thing that was clear was the thought that we had to get away. I freaking killed someone. I murdered. I had no right of robbing Jacklyn of her life but I wasn't about to leave her with that other worthless excuse of a parent.

Halfway down the street behind me I heard a loud bang of a door opening and my name being yelled. A chuckle subconsciously left my throat.

"Where exactly are we going, Trin?" Jacklyn yelled to me.
