“You think you’re the only one with problems?” I asked sitting back down. She looked up at me tears shimmering in her eyes. She refused to respond though. “Well this isn’t going to work if you don’t talk kid” I said with a sigh and then I stared at the ground figuring there was nothing else to say.
“I…” she began and I looked up at her waiting for her to continue, she was looking straight at me now but she still had the tears in her eyes. “I-I don’t…. I don’t mean to sound selfish….. I just…… I just don’t want to be all alone again” She finally choked out as she squeezed her eyes shut and tightened her now clenched fists near her chest.
“What makes you think you will be alone?” I asked her; Kiki wiped her tears away but more escaped her eyes.
“When…. When I was little…. When I was little everybody…… Hated me I was so alone…. I only had Swan…. Swan means everything to me she is so beautiful and kind and I love her all so dearly, I don’t want to see her die or suffer from the choices I make” Kiki finally confessed; then once again she bursted into tears, I stood up and pulled her into a friendly comforting hug.
“I promised your sister I would be here for you if she dies, you won’t be alone Kiki, I’m here and whilst Swan is still alive she will also be here for you, Swan cares about you and she told me you are the only one who can break this curse, she said you are the only one from the family whom has not been consumed by this curse” I told Kiki she sobbed some more and then spoke again.
“Why couldn’t Swan have been the one without the curse? Why couldn’t Swan have been me? Why Couldn’t I have been born with the curse? I’d rather die than Swan! Everybody loves Swan and she is so kind I admire her for that” Kiki told me.
“I understand how you feel, but I promise I will help you through this as a friend and a brother, stay strong Kiki that is the only thing Swan really wants of you, she wants you to stay strong and keep smiling it makes her happy and many others as well” I told Kiki as I let go of her, she looked up at me and gave me a small smile.
“Okay, for Swan” she vowed. I smiled in return.
“Yes, for Swan”
That night Kiki went to bed and I called the funeral parlour and payed for the coffin the mother of the two girls would remain in.
Swan’s P.O.V
I can feel my body slowly weakening and giving up on me, I decided to try and fight it so I would be there for dear Kiki, I could not leave her behind I had to try and beat the curse, although deep down I truly knew it was impossible to fight the curse, I knew that the more I tried to fight it the more it would weaken me and kill me.
Within Swan’s Mind…
“Give up Swan, you know your sister will die before she can destroy me” the devil of the curse told me.
“Kiki will not do such a thing, Kiki is strong and she shall bring all of whom died back” I replied trying to sound like I knew what I was talking about.
“But you do not understand that is impossible for a mere child to do, she can only bring all of the dead back if she gives herself to me and allows me to suck out her dear soul” the devil replied.
“What a shame, you were once the most handsome boy in the Black family tree yet now they have turned you into a beast, do you not want to be freed?” I asked the boy whose name was once Eric.
“Shut up Swan!” he exclaimed in his haunting voice.
“Poor, poor Eric, when I die I shall watch over Kiki and make her stronger I am not afraid of dying it is everybody’s destiny” I replied as I spun around and my long blonde hair flipped over my shoulder.
