that grew from a crack in the concrete?
People walked around it
because it frightened them.
That rose had a dream,
and that dream was to grow and
survive.
Its will frightened people.
Its determination.
That rose always stood alone
as it grew.
It grew more and more slowly
as it realized how alone it was.
Alone and empty,
the rose's dream of rising above the concrete
