A day with Zach

After Zach and I's talk, I followed him wherever we were suppose to go. I took a glance at my surroundings, we were in the city. Downtown Chicago. Graffiti was splattered all over the walls, which I sort of admired. People didn't noticed how great the artwork is, they just simply agree that it's vandalizing.

I've never once broke the law, nor disobeyed my mother. Goodie too-shoes they call me. They don't know the real me, if you get to know me I'm a real bitch.

As Zach and I kept walking, we stayed in silence. It wasn't an awkward silence, just silence. As we got closer to the tunnel, I heard music. Rap music in fact. My eyebrows furrowed with curiosity, not knowing where he is leading me too.

A strong stench came upon my nose, as I wrinkled it with disgust. Zach must have noticed while he let out a deep chuckle. His laugh tickled my ears, traveling to my heart. I bit my lip trying to stop the smile rising on my face.

Im going to be completely honest, a boy has never taken me out before. Not even a friend that's a boy. No one has. Sometimes when I look at myself in the mirror, I wonder how I can change myself. Is it my hair that they don't like? Is it my attitude? My clothes? I can't help but to be curious on why. The only thing that I came to conclusion was that I'm not desperate. I don't throw myself at boys as say, "Hey guys, I'm Audrey. Now suck my face." It's scary on how true that was. I laugh at all the girls at school who do that. My thoughts were broken when I heard Zach speak,

"We're here love."

I took in my surroundings while I gasped. Graffiti was still splattered across the wall, but music pumped through my ears. About five guys were breakdancing to the beat of the music. The sun started to slowly fall, as the moon took it's place. A huge smile appeared on my face when one of the street dancers offered his hand out for me to come dance. I gladly took his hand, and started to break dance with them. Hey, I'm not just a ballet dancer. After a few moments, my attention grew to the hands that tugged my waist. I turned around and saw Zach standing there. He had a smirk on his face when he said,

"What happened to ballet Audrey?" He asked with a chuckle.

"I told you I love hip hop too." I replied with a small laugh.

All the sudden, slow music replaced the rap music. The five dancers that were dancing before, scurried over by the speaker, and cooed us. Zach must have known them. Wait, Zach told me he is a street dancer...this is probably his group! Dang Audrey, you are a slow chestnut.

"But the real question is.. Can you slow dance?" Zach said, holding his hand out.

I didn't say a word, all I did was take his hand. I wrapped my arms around his neck, while he placed his hands on my upper waist. My heart speed increased every single step we took. The song, "All of me" was playing. I loved this song, it reminded me that I should be loved the way I am.

"All of me, loves all of you.." His touch grew a little stronger as the song continued.

"All your curves and all your edges.. All your perfect imperfections.." He mouthed the words to the song. Didn't know tough Zach listened to slow music, ha!

The song kept playing as we swayed in sync. My heart quickly sped up, and my palms grew sweaty when I felt his hands lower to just above my bottom. His eyes sparkled when he looked at me, he never once left his eyes from mine. It's like he is staring deep in my eyes, looking on what's In the inside rather than the out. I kept biting my lip trying not to smile, I don't want him to get the wrong message.. Or do I?

He spun me around to where my back was against his chest, as we kept swaying. His warmth filled my body and my heart twisted when he pulled me into him tighter. Before I knew it, the song ended as Zach unwrapped me from him, quickly missing his touch. A strand of hair fell from the side of my ear, but before I could catch it, Zach did. He pulled the strand away from my face and tugged it behind my ear. He pulled me closer to him, So close that I could feel his heart beat rapidly. His face came closer to mine, as my chest quickly fell up and down. My stomach grew with butterfly's as my palms were sweaty. Once he couldn't get any closer, his voice whispered in my ear with warmth,

"You better get going, love. I had a wonderful time."

With that said, he pulled away. Oh Zach, the things you do to my heart.
