"Hm?" she asked, eyes widening.

"You want to come with us?"

Her eyes softened and she gave me a gentle grin. "As long as your sister and friends are okay with it."

I nodded eagerly. "They will be, I promise."

Thankfully, Collie and I also had our last class together. She made sure to sit by me at our table so that we could pass notes while the teacher wasn't looking. I liked the thrill of doing something bad. It made me feel rebellious, not the kind like how I had lied to Melissa about going to Andrew's and went to Zech's. I didn't like being that risky.

Her: This class is so boring!! ):

Me: I know

Her: I'm glad you're in it with me tho

I blushed, pressing my lips together as I thought of a response.

Me: I'm glad youre in it too

Her: Whats ur fav. color??

I smiled.

Me: Green

Her: Really?

Me: yeah. yours?

Her: Purple

The class carried on just like that. I hadn't paid attention to a single sentence the teacher said. My attention was solely on the girl next to me. Collie had scribbled down another message on her notebook and handed it to me about five minutes before the class was to end.

Her: Do you have my number?

Me: No.

She looked at my reply and then wrote down her number.

Her: Call me, okay? (:

I stared at Collie's number, and when the bell rang, I was still kind of freaking out inside. Having her number gave me so much more access to talking to her. At first, I found the thought a little creepy and stalkerish, but Collie would want me to call her.

As I was walking down the hall towards the entrance to the bus, I was shocked when I felt a huge weight push into me.

"Hello!" a loud voice shouted.

Once I was standing steadily again, I was surprised to see that the person who ran into me was Ursanne of all people. I stuffed my phone into my pocket.

"What was that for?!"

My sister's eyes widened as if I were crazy. "It's like you're deaf!"

I furrowed my eyebrows. "What are you talking about?"

"I called your name, like, a bajillion times!"

I frowned. "Oh, sorry."

"Oh, sorry," she mocked sarcastically.

I pursed my lips. "What's the matter?"

She shook her head. "Nothing. Just a rough day."

I looked away from her. I knew that maybe she'd get a bit upset over Collie being invited to go trick-or-treating with us, so I decided not to tell her yet.

"What happened?"

She sighed, rubbing her forehead. "Some guys are just jerks."

I felt the anger that suddenly began flowing through me. "What guys?"

"Guys in my year."

"What did they do?"

Ursanne pushed opened the entrance doors. The cold air smacked our faces as we began walking towards the bus.
