Maia's POV

My eyes shot open with urgency to see Calithea being hit in the head and fall to the floor, I try to yell out her name only to realize that my physical body lays right next to me. I raise up my hands to see that I can see right through them.

"What are we gonna do now, Boss?" The big burly man questioned to the apparent new leader who hit my beloved.

"We continue the mission. We take the Queen to the abandoned tower until the former King can provide us with what we want in return." He chuckled right after.

"Are you sure the east forest is a secure enough hideout for us?"

"There's no way the King's left over squabbles that can be heroic enough to attempt to search for us. We just killed his biggest threat."

I was caught by surprise with that statement.

'Am I really dead? This must be a dream; even more so, a nightmare.' I float, yes float, over to Calithea's body, now still on the ground.

'I'm sorry I failed you.' I whisper, the sound fading as soon as it left me. Her eye lids twitched, almost unapparent.

"We better tie her up before she awakens." His partner nodded. I couldn't stop them. I couldn't even lay my palm on my loved one's cheek without it going through; not even able to feel her warmth before she was taken away. I pursue after them, not allowing them to take her away from me. As I was close enough to them, all I could do was run into a barrier of some sorts that is preventing me from going any further. My heart shatters as I see them getting smaller and smaller into the distance until no longer in my field of sight.

'You cannot leave a certain amount of distance from your physical body, Maia."

I smile to myself. It seems that someone is keeping me in check.

'Thank you.' I reply back automatically. I think to what I heard of the men. The East Forest. I lived just a river across from it. From what I've heard, the East Forest is somewhere where no one would go by choice. Since the majority of the knights sent by the King to search their haven't returned in months, I assume the rumors are true. Perhaps since I can obviously leave behind marks of my being, I can leave a clue as where they have taken Calithea.

'A map would do swell.' I head to the King's chambers. It's no exaggeration to say that he has the entire kingdom laid out on his wall. An entire depiction of every corner of the land is labeled and accounted for. The sun streams in through the window.

'Morning, already? ' I trace the spot labeled in a colored ink 'Maia' on the map with my nonexistent fingers. To see my past living location labeled in a childish manner and in colored ink no less, it seems that the mysterious voice wasn't the only one keeping me in check.

'I've seen enough, I need to pay attention to the important matters.' I abruptly hear a yelling outside to what seems to be the King. Though, it doesn't sound urgent.

'It seems to me that I'm not the only one that has devised a plan in search of Calithea.' I look to the forest that is carefully and conveniently labeled. The only signs of a 'tower' is a spot that seems to be a reserved location for a building of some sorts.

'Maia, are you present in this castle?'

My head peaks up. I nod slowly until realizing that I'm not in anyone's view.

'Yes.'

'Very well, this will make my job easier.' Job? In what way would my presence correspond with someone else's work? I can feel a pressure weighing me down. Time has been passing by faster in my new condition; so I've noticed.

"Maia! I can feel your presence! Take back your body so you can relive!"

My ghostly self suddenly is being dragged back to a room that is radiating light - Calithea's room.

What I see next is something I would never have thought to see in my past lifetime. Witchcraft. My dead corpse floats with the air around it glowing red. I can hear it. My heart, beating once more. I ignore what is being yelled out by the one yielding the magic. My body is alive again. The heat can be even felt by a nonexistent soul as myself.

As my soul finally enters my body, I feel the weight of living push me in further. The sensation I feel next is something not so new to me.

I feel exhaustion also entice the thought of going into a deep slumber.

'I hope I wake up soon.'

Elizabeth's POV

'All that can kill her now is age,'

'Or heartbreak.'

Yes. My efforts have not gone to waste. She will wake up, soon.

A/N

So, yeah. If you want to imagine what it lookes like when she wakes up, image how Bella wakes up after being turned into a vampire in Twilight. All eerie and sudden.

I already have 'the hidden tower written out so all that I have to do is type it out. Idk all that is really preventing me from updating is laziness since the storyline is like embed in my head. Btw, I'm on my phone so I need to make edits after I publish this so dont be so discouraged with unitalisized words and spellings and what not. So yeah,

'The hidden Tower' is next.
