The sleek black tomcat stretched, laying on the large red chair while laid below, my paw slightly curled up with my claws unsheathed. Suddenly a dog barked loudly, running through the room to the dark blue front door. His fur was golden with black parts and he had deep brown eyes. He was a golden retriever. Jinx hissed out, "Cuddles, shut him up." I had jumped up, crouching in suspicion as I glanced at the loud golden retriever. He soon formed words, "Jinx! Cuddles! Its... its another cat! I smell it!" I rolled amber eyes, stretching and standing. I took long strides to the open window seeing in deed the dog, Taco, was correct. On the rockwall that counted as the border where the garden stopped and the green lawn started sat a black tabby female. She started once seeing me sit in the window sill, "Cuddles. I prefer to believe Jinx is here too? Anyway I got a serious problem... I heard from Tigerlily that you saved her tail once... I'd be willing to pay in cat food. Wet, not dry." I licked my lips hungrily yet the familiar black tom leap in the window sill, pushing me onto the flower bed below. I let out an annoyed hissed as I stood. Jinx glanced at me before turning his attention to the black tabby, he quickly denied her offer and she shrugged sadly, leaping into the lawn and stalkering off slowly as if waiting for either me or Jinx to reconsider and accept. Despite my urge to call her back and do exactly that Jinx glared at me, a warning. He was the alpha cat of the household, i couldnt just cross a line that big like it was nothing.
I stalked off, ears flattened against my skull as i slightly opened my mouth, lashing my tail. I leapt over the rockwall and walked across the lawn to another's house, the people that lived there were away for "business" so the pet that lived there, a very intriguing German Shepard known as Bella, she immediately ran out the doggy door and growled loudly, "Cuddles! Get off my territory you mangy-" "Nope!" she looked bewildered at my quick and short response to her threat. "Im curious ol' Bell! Who was the black tabby in my garden? You are always watchin' so I know you saw her."
Bella growled, "I aint telling you! Now scram before I rip your spine out of your body cat!" I soon darted up the sole tree in Bella's yard, just outside her reach I laughed and spoke in a taunting tone, "Hey ol' Bell! How is it I can get to you so easily yet you have so many times won over you? I have dodged and ran despite all your pathetic attempts, I have always won this game of cat and mouse?" she soon started barking loudly, scratching the tree, trying to get higher but to no avail as everything she failed. Soon Taco ran out, growling at the slightly larger dog. "Hey Bella! Back off! Dont hurt him or my people will blame me!" he growled at the blue eyed German Shepard who grumbled, walking away into her house. I leapt down, nodding my thanks to the dog before waving him away and going to the door next to Bella's house. Taco had proudly walked back to Jinx who sat on the porch of the house, glaring at me as I continued on to the rocky pathway to the door.
I sat at the door, meowing at the wooden pelican. Soon enough the smartmouthed raven flew down, landing on the pelican's beak gracefully. "What do you want Cuddles?" he spat out, meeting my stare defiantly. I hummed, taking in the leafy and quite beautiful garden and pathway to the bland porch. The only decoration was the wooden pelican that the raven had landed on. "Well cat? I have other clients to attend to?" I laughed lowly, "Dein, tell me, what "clients"? You tell the other neighborhood pets and even strays the daily gossip you get from-" I stopped as another raven landed on the wooden bird, she wore a bandanna around her neck. "I reckon y'all be talkin' 'bout good ol' me?" she chirped sweetly in her southern accent. I continued, "Luna. Speak of the gossip-spreading devil!" she did what I thought was a smirk as she chirped, "What do ya need hon? My current price is an audience with the neighborhood cat watch- Tigerlily. Your very own sister."
"You frisky bird, fine, I can get Tigerlily's squ-" "No, Cuddles, just Tigerlily." she interrupted, her carefree look turned stern as she glared down at me with judging eyes. I sighed, standing and taking long strides to the concrete sidewalk and going down the steep hill I lived on to my house, leaping through the window to see Jinx glaring at me intently. "Chased by Bella, rescued by Taco, talking with the raven twins, what else Cuddles? What else!" he hissed out, I flattened my ears, looking up at him with undying defiance and curiosity. "Curiosity killed the cat." Jinx warned before stalking off, I looked after him in disappointment. I then laid in the widow sill, drifting off to sleep before being forcefully interrupted by the pale tabby shecat who pulled me into the flower bed. "Cuddles, What did Luna talk to you about?" she immediately demanded as I groaned, showing that I was awake. I glared up at her intensely, bitterly meeting her yellow eyed, bold gaze. I muttered boldly, "None of your beeswax my friend." I stood, meeting her gaze again only this time I smirked, walking away proudly as she called after me, "Cuddles! Watch you back! Theres something in this neighborhood, waiting for the right time to strike down any bolder pets!" I ignored her, taking longer and prouder strides across the black road, to a certain tiny poodle's home. I stopped outside her door, hesitating.
