Chapter 16 - First Detention

Isabelle's POV
Everyone's back from their Christmas break. We were in the library studying.
Ah...my favorite thing to do, but then Hermione came with a huge book.

"I had you looking in the wrong section. How could I be so stupid?" She said, slamming the book on the table, which it almost slammed on my finger.

"Hermione, you almost hit my finger." I said.

"Sorry, Belle. Anyways, I checked this out weeks ago for a bit of light reading." Hermione added.

"This is light?'' Ron said, with sarcasm. that made me glared at him.
"Not funny, Ron." Erika said.

She opened the book and found it easily.

"Of course! Here it is! Nicholas Flamel is the only known maker of the Sorcerer's Stone." She said.

"The what?" Ron and Harry asked.

"Honestly, don't you two read?" Erika and I said.

Yep! Erika and I have this connection. You know what I mean.

"The Sorcerere's Stone is a legendary substance with astonishing powers. It'll transform any metal into pure gold and produces the Elixir of Life which will make the drinker immortal." Hermione read.

"Immortal?" said Ron.

"It means you'll never die." Hermione said.

"I know what it means." he said.

Harry shushed him.

Then I looked over on Hermione's shoulder and continued.

"The only Stone currently in existence belongs to Mr. Nicholas Flamel...the noted alchemist who last year celebrated his 665th birthday."  I read.

Harry and Ron seemed shocked.

"That's what Fluffy's guarding. That's what's under the trap door." Hermione said.
"The Sorcerer's Stone." Erika finished Hermione's sentence.

"We need to ask Hagrid again." said Harry.
All five of us agreed.

~Later~

That night, we went to Hagrid's Hut.
Harry knocked on the door.

Hagrid opened the door, wearing mittens and a apron
"Hagrid." Harry said.

"Sorry, but I'm a bit occupied right now." Hagrid was about to close the door, until......

"We know about the Sorcerer's Stone." We said.
Hagrid opened the door again.

"Oh." He said.

We all walked in.

"We think Snape trying to steal it." Harry said.

"Snape?! Don't tell me you're still on to him." Hagrid said.

"We think he is." Hermione said.
"Look, Snape is a Hogwarts Teacher and one of them protecting the stone." Hagrid said.
"But, does he know how to pass Fluffy?" Hermione asked
"No, just me and Dumbledore. I shouldn't have said that." Hagrid said.

Suddenly we heard something. Hagrid went to the fire and grabbed an egg from the pot.

"Hagrid, what is that?" Erika asked.
"It's um...." Hagrid trailed off.

"I know why it is....but Hagrid where did you get it?" Ron asked.

"Oh, I won it. From someone at the pub." Hagrid replied.

Then the egg started to shake.
It burst out an it was.....

"Is that....a dragon?" Hermione asked.
"That's not any dragon. It's a Norwegian Ridgeback. My brother, Charlie train these in Romania." Ron said.

"Beautiful, isn't he? Oh look, he knows he Mommy." Hagrid said, happily.

"Hello, Norbert." Hagrid said.

"Norbert?" I asked.
"He's got to have a name." Hagrid said.

Nrobert suddenly sneezed and blew fire. Hagrid's bread to get on fire.

"He needs to train for a bit." Hagrid added.

We chuckled at him.

"Who's that?" Hagrid asked

We turned around and saw....

"Malfoy." Harry said.

"Oh dear."

~Back to the Castle~We went back to the castle.

"Hagrid always wanted a dragon. Told me so the first time I met him." Harry said.

"It's crazy. And worse, Malfoy knows." said Ron.

"I don't understand. Is that bad?'' Hermione asked.

"It's bad, all right." Erika replied.

Then in front of us, there was Professor McGongall.

"Good evening." she said. Then Malfoy came behind her and smirked.

We went to her office.

"Nothing, I repeat, nothing...gives a student the right to walk about at night. Therefore, as punishment for your actions, 50 points will be taken." said Professor McGongall.

"50?!" Harry and Erika said, shocked.

"Each."

"To ensure it doesn't happen again...all six of you will receive detention." said Professor McGongall.

Malfoy's smirk faded away.

"Excuse me, professor, perhaps I heard you wrong. I thought you said the six of us." he said.

"No, you heard me correctly, Mr. Malfoy. Honorable as your intentions were, you too were out of bed after hours. You will join your classmates in detention." she said.

Malfoy looked at us with a glare.
Erika crossed her arms and smirked. Along with Harry.

But when Malfoy turned to me...he didn't change his expression.
I looked down...getting scared of him.
