We Need Rain

Everything alive needs the sun,
It is the giver,
On this Earth.
But it will burn you,
Bake you alive,
If it is there all the time.
So we have night.
But one more thing everything needs,
That the sun takes with it's shine.
It take the liquid from your soul,
Leaves you dry,
As well as the ground.
So how do you live,
When it's taken away?
You live from the gift from the sky.
Rain quenches your thirst,
Keeps you alive.
Shields you away,
From harmful rays.
We need the rain,
And it's gloomy cloud,
To keep the brightness,
Inside you alive.
We need the rain,
So don't complain.
When it ruins your plans for the day.
We need the rain and a little darkness,
So when the light comes,
It seems so much brighter.
And we don't know the pain,
Of being without.
All you have is the delay,
Of a beautiful day.
And something small,
To compare to something great.
When that small, little thing,
Controls your entire fate.
