Expect the Unexpected

One.

"What time is it? Summer time!" I was singing the familiar tune in my head from one of my favorite movies as a child; High School Musical. This particular tune is in the second movie, but you probably already know this. I had thirty minutes left of my AP History class and then it's hello to the beach, the boys, crazy beach parties filled with boys, and my best friends, Lily and Chloe, right beside me.

Since it is the last day of school, we still have exams. Ugh! These stupid school administrators know how excited we are that high school is a thing of the past for us seniors now. So, why do we have to take exams the very last week? Why can't we all get blankets and pillows on the floor and watch movies like we did in elementary school? That would be so much better! I finished my exam about five minutes ago and was dragging my eyes back and forth from the clock, to Lily, to Chloe to see when either one of them would be done. Every now and then I would glance at the other people who I might never see again for the rest of my adventure filled life. It was weird to think about that. The people you've been in the same class with for the last thirteen years, just gone like the wind.

Or, if I got bored of watching Lily and Chloe, I would sneak my phone out and check the latest media.

Yes! Lily is finally done with her exam! Now I can text her.

L - yeah totally! do the three of us wanna hang out tonight and go to Jake Ashton's party? i hear his older brother from NYU is home and he brought friendssss
S - yeah!!! we will ask Sally Sunshine over there if she would ever finish her test

I slipped my phone in my back pocket because the stupid teacher doesn't want to stay in his seat and feels the need to wander around as if we are children.

Puh-lease.

We had seven more minutes left of this class. I thought about college. I had gotten into NYU! Oh, did I mention Chloe and Lily will be accompanying me? Going from Malibu to The Big Apple will be a challenge. All three of us are big family girls. We all make sure to spend lots of time with our families. I'm just glad that we will have each other.

Finally the slow girl, Lily, put her test up! I quickly texted her about Jake's party tonight and, of course, she responded with a huge yes. She has had a crush on Jake Ashton since we were little and with us being good friends with him, Chloe and I have picked up the sense that he likes her too. With her long wavy hair and his surfer body, they'd be so cute together. I recently got out of a relationship that lasted two years with Ryan Hall. Being the two most popular people in the school, I'd say we were pretty cute. We broke up because he is going to Florida for football and I'm going up north. It wouldn't be the best to stay together. I was really sad but I understood what had to be done.

The bell finally rang and everyone ran out of school. The seniors busting through people like children in a candy shop! To say we were excited to be out of Malibu High School was definitely an understatement. My girls and I walked to our cars that our parents had gotten us for a graduation present. Chloe got a cute little BMW Convertible, Lily got a really pretty Jeep Wrangler, and I got a Range Rover. All of our parents are super wealthy. We all drove to my house and, of course, my older brother Josh came home from Tennessee University. I had completely forgotten! We walked in my house and threw our stuff by the stairs and headed to the kitchen to get snacks. If we were gonna get hot for this party, we had to have all the motivation from the kitchen first. I grabbed energy drinks and the girls got chips. My brother was sitting on the couch with his girlfriend of four years, Lindsay. Lindsay was like a sister to me. I had known her for what felt like forever! I gave them a quick hug and kiss and we bolted upstairs. We all wear the same size so finding three dresses for this was not going to be hard.

I plugged up my phone to my speaker and played music to get us pumped. We all walked into my closet to the dress section. I picked out a white dress with a sweetheart neckline that was fitted to the waist and had a cute little belt and then a short skirt that puffed out. Chloe picked a blue one similar to mine and Lily picked a red fitted dress. I picked black stilettos, Chloe got white, and Lily got black as well. All of our jewelry matched our shoes so it wasn't too hard to pick it out. Once we laid out our clothes and such, we headed to my bathroom. I started curling my hair as they put on makeup. I decided to put my hair into a ponytail and do really sexy makeup. The girls started their hair as I did my makeup. When it was all said and done, to say we all looked hot was an understatement.

We all headed out the front door to my Range Rover since it's the biggest and set off for Ryan's house.

"Do you think he will even notice me?" Lily said as we reached about the halfway mark.

"Of course he will! Believe us when we say he likes you too, and when he sees how hot you look, it will definitely confirm it," Chloe explained. When I say Lily has obsessed over him for a while, believe me, it's been a while.

We finally reached Ryan's huge ass house and walked through the gate. Valet took my car. The party was already lit! Lights flashing every where, people dancing all over each other! This is gonna be fun! We made it to the kitchen to get a drink and we saw Ryan. I made my way to him to say hello and one of the guys he was talking to turned around and looked at me.

Whoa was all I could say.
