I Don't Know You (Amandla Stenberg and Malak Watson)

Jasmine POV:
Hey everybody! Me and my mom just moved into a house in Los Angeles. We just got here yesterday and to be honest I wanna go back to Hawaii. But my mom said that this will be a big opportunity . She has a new job down here and I'm happy for her but I just wanna go back home.
Anyway I'm 14 years old yay! And today is my first day at school.....in Los Angeles. I miss my friends in Hawaii.😭😢😥
I decided to wear well you know after I did my hygiene of course!

I went downstairs to see my mom have breakfast at the table
"Hey mama", I said with a smile as I sat down where my plate of food was
"Hey Jas. Are you excited about you going to your first day of school?", she asked as she drunk some of her orange juice
"Eh. Not really", I said as I started eating
"Really", she said as she put her cup down
"Yeah", I said as I continued to eat
"How? This is a great opportunity for you to meet new friends and people and into the city, reach out more to people instead of always at the beach shore 24/7", she said
"But I want to go back to Hawaii. That's a good place to be. Where the trees, water, sand is. Isn't that great too?", I asked
"Yes but there's a beach here too", my mom said
"But it's not a Hawaii beach", I said with a serious face "and they don't have the big beautiful sunset like Hawaii does", I continued as I put my dish in the sink
"Well you don't know that. You haven't even seen it yet. I promise you'll start liking it here. Just give it a chance", my mom said as she got up
I sighed
"Ok now hurry up and go to the bus stop. The bus will be there an second", my mom said
"Ok. Bye love you", I said as I gave her a kiss on her cheek and walked out the door

When I got to the bus stop, there was literally NO one there. Guess I just have to wait by myself.....everyday.
I saw the bus coming towards my way.
I sighed and closed my eyes
You'll be ok Jas!
I said to myself in my head
When I opened my eyes the bus was already in front of me.
The doors opened
I walked on and saw people screaming and loud laughing, people throwing paper at each other
On of the paper balls hit me on the head as I was trying to find an empty spot.
I looked up to where the paper ball was thrown
"Hey!", I said already aggravated
"Oops", on of the boys who threw it at me smirked and continued to throw paper at people
Jerk
But he looked REALLY familiar. Like idk why but he does🤔.
I sat in an empty spot and looked down at the ring on my finger. I love this rings, I wear it EVERYDAY. But I really don't know who gave it to me. My mom says my Bestfriend gave it to me, but I pretty sure none of my friends in Hawaii gave it to me........it has to be somebody else.
When I got to school, I walked off the bus and walked through the school doors.
I looked down at me phone to my schedule.
Ok, first period...science with Mrs.Quinton
I walked into science and everybody just stared me down
Was I late or something?
"Hello, aren't you Jasmine?", Mrs Quinton asked me in front of everybody
"Uhhhh yes I am", I said as I glanced at everybody
I saw that same boy from the bus sitting in the back
"Ok well Jasmine this is your science class. Everybody stand up and introduce yourself

Were in my science class. But somebody tell me why that Malak name sounds so familiar. He's the one that threw that stupid paper ball at me🙄😑😒
"Ok now Jasmine why don't you tell everybody about you?", Mrs. Quinton asked
"Ok um....I'm 14 years old. I was born in Hawaii. And just lived here from Hawaii. I have zero siblings. I just live with my mom. My nickname is Jas. And....oh yeah....I have this ring", I said to everybody as I put my hand up showing the ring "my mom said that my Bestfriend gave it to me but I have no idea who that Bestfriend is", I continued
"Ok thanks Jasmine. Well come to Westway Brooks Middle School", Mrs. Quinton said
I gave her a half smile as she pointed for me where to sit....next to that Malak guy😩😒

Malak POV:
Hey wassup it ya boy MALAK WATSON! And for some reason that Jasmine girl looks SUPER familiar.......and so does that ring. I'm actually wearing it right now, I never take it off.
That name sounds familiar too to be honest and so does her face, weird right?
I glanced at her a few times and I guess she stated to notice because her nostrils started to flare
"Ok can you please stop looking at me!", she whispered yelled at me
"Sorry jeez, you just look Familiar", I said
"Ok but I'm just saying. You look familiar too but...you don't have to keep staring at me. Do you see me staring at you?", she said annoyed
"No. I'll stop! No need for the attitude", I said as I rolled me eyes
"I don't have an attitude. It's just that I don't wanna be here. I wanna go back home", she said as she sighed
"Well nobody told you to come here if you miss your precious little home", I said as I rolled my eyes again
"It wasn't my choice to come to Los Angeles. I just wanted to stay in Hawaii but my mom had a job down here. So don't start pointing fingers", she said as I saw her cut her eyes at me
"But still....", I said
"Why do you even care. It's like you got a problem with Hawaii and it's people. Your not my friend!", she said annoyed
"I was just curios! And I have NO problem with Hawaii and it's people, I'll have you know that I was born in Hawaii and raised there too. Where you'd get that ring from anyway?", I asked as I pointed at the finger the ring was on
"None of your business that's were I got it from", she said as she turned away from me
"I was just asking a question. Nobody asked for your little bratty attitude", I said
"Look! I'm tired and I don't wanna be here as much as you don't want me here. I don't know who you think you are but I just know that you have nothing to do with me. If I got the ring from one of my Bestfriends than that's where I got it from. Stop asking all these dumb questions! Would you like it if I kept asking you things like ohhh where'd you get your ring from?!", she said as she rolled her eyes and slouched in her seat
"I got mines when I brought it for me and my Bestfriend", I said
"Well I sure feel bad for the person you gave that ring too cause I bet they feel stupid for wanting to be Bestfriends with you", Jasmine said as she looked away from me and was looking at the teacher now
That kind of hurt
"Whatever", I said as I looked at the teacher 😒😒😒
