I Don't Know You (Amandla Stenberg and Malak Watson)

😭Goodbye Bestie😭

Jasmine POV:
Me and my Bestfriend, Malak laughed as we held hands walking towards the beach with our surfboards.
"Are you gonna teach me how to surf?", I asked with a laugh
"Of course, since you do know how to do anything", Malak laughed back
I looked at him with my nose scrunched up and my tongue sticking out
He looked at me and laughed again
"Stop doing that face, you look stupid", he said
"Shut up", I laughed back at him as I pushed him slightly

As we made it to the shoreline, we laid our surfboards on the sand as we looked at the water. It looked kind of scary
"Malak, I'm scared", I said a little worried that I might hurt myself
"Jas, calm down you'll be fine", he said as he grabbed my hand
I looked down at our hands locked and looked back up at him
I smiled and nodded as I looked back at the ocean
"Your right. I got this!", I said more confident
I grabbed my board as I laid it on the water
"Ok....now what do I do?", I asked looking down at the board
Malak chuckled
"Just watch and learn", he said as he grabbed his board and went out into the water
I laughed as he started showing off

Malak POV:
I don't know how to tell her. It's so hard to break it to your Bestfriend that you've known FOREVER, that you have to move, tomorrow.

When I got finished showing Jas how to surf, I went back to shore laughing
"Now it's your turn", I smirked
"Ok. I'll show you that I can be good", Jas said as she ran to the water
"It's COLD!", she screamed shivering
"Hurry up Jas!", I laughed
She looked at me smiling
She laid her stomach on the board as she paddled with her arms

Jasmine POV:
I saw a huge wave, I looked back at Malak and he had his thumbs up👍🏼
I smiled as I turned back to the wave. I surfed into the wave as the water quickly pushed me off my board and into the water. I accidentally swallowed some of it.
I can swim but this water was too deep for me to actually be able to swim in.
It felt like I kept falling down into the water. I could barely catch my breath in time. The water kept on going through my nose and wising upon my face
"MAL-", I screamed but was stopped when water got in my mouth
I looked for my board, but I couldn't find it.
"MALAK!", I screamed as I sunk slowly into the water trying to get back up

Malak POV:
I saw her fall off the board into the water, but I couldn't see her no more.
"JAS?! JAS IM COMING!", I screamed as I took off my shirt and ran into the water.
I swam into the water looking for Jasmine
I got from underwater and heard my name
"MALAK!", I heard Jasmines name from close up
I looked to my right and saw Jasmine sinking under water
I swam as fast as I could to her
I held my breath as I went under water and grabbed her before she could go any farther down
I brought us both back up to the surface as took a deep breath
I tried swimming is both back to shore
I looked down at her and she was holding on to me tight.

When we got back to the shore, she ran out the water and fell onto the sand
She sat down on the sand shivering cold
I sat down next to her
"You ok?", I asked as I looked at her, trying to look her in the eyes
"Do- don't take me back out there", she said scared as I saw tears run down her face
I wrapped my arm around her as she laid her head down on my shoulder
She pulled her legs into her and sighed
"I won't", I said. She's right, no 12 year old she have to go through that, NO age should have to do that. I started feeling really bad
We stood like this for about....10 minutes
"I'm sorry", I said
"It's ok, it's not your fault. But I'm happy that you saved me", she said as she looked up at me with a smile
I smiled back at her
"I am too. But I have to tell you something", I said starting to feel my stomach hurt
"Yeah", she said looking at me with her cute innocent eyes, that I'll never forget.
A/N: Just to let you know. That are both 12 years old
"Ok, um. Please don't be mad at me. And promise that this won't our friendship?", I said looking at her
"I promise", she said as she nodded her head
"Ok. Well tomorrow, I'm moving....to Los Angeles ", I said as I looked away from her and bit my lip.
"What?!", she said as she got out of the position we were in and looked at me like I was crazy
"Yeah", I said even more nervous as I scratched the back of my head
"No!", she said as she stood up dusting herself off
"I'm sorry Jas, but it's true", I said as I stood up also dusting my pants off
I saw her eyes water
"Jas don't cry", I said as I gave her a big hug
She slowly wrapped her arms around me
"I don't want you to leave", she said as I felt her tears fall on my shoulder
"I don't want to leave either. I love it here in Hawaii", I said as we broke the hug
We both turned our heads at the way where the water was. The sun was setting.
