Grinning widely I drive up the driveway, my dad standing in front of the house with a happy smile on his face. Parking, I barely have time to unbuckle myself before my door is thrown open and I'm hugged tightly.

Rascal wakes with a start, growling at my dad until I laugh and my dad releases me. "Oh baby, thank you for worrying about me."

"So this is your dog huh? Well I have to admit he sure does slobber like you did -" I punch his arm, pouting as he laughs. "I'm joking! I'm joking! Jesus, barely here and already hitting me I see, Flower."

"It's good to see you dad." I smile at him, hugging him again and happy to be at my second home.

As he helps me take my things inside the house and gives me a refresher tour - considering he redecorated recently -, dad decides we can go back and forth asking questions to catch up.

"How are your moms? And the kids?"

"Good, Mom didn't want me driving alone and I think Momma might finally be considering using the basement as Brandon's bedroom."

"It's about time! Living in a house full of girls at his age, he needs a space he can call his own. Have they finished converting it?"

"Yeah, like 3 months ago. They even put a full bath down there, which is why I think it would be a really good idea for him to have the basement. How's Stephanie doing?"

"Eh, we broke up a few weeks ago."

"Oh, sorry. What happened?"

"She didn't like that I was putting more attention into redoing the house than her. It was going down before that though, she kept dropping hints about moving in and I wasn't for it."

"Dad when are you gonna settle down?" I tease him lightly.

"I figure if I meet someone I'm actually willing to change for I'll settle down with her. But I'm not changing for someone I don't think I'll even be with in five years. Who'd you decided to give your moped to?"
