He ran away from me, anyways,
He almost tripped over the brick, as always.

Oh lil one! When will you stop troubling me?
And depleting stocks of my butter, the cow milk and ghee?

Do away with them, pouting, you take your stand,
Should adore or punish you, Lallaa, I don't understand.

I seek you everywhere, all corridors and corners,
And you hide in there, beside pillars and borders.

Incredible is that lively gait of yours, O Kanhaiya.
And when you say, "Catch me if you can, O Maiyya!"

What should I say to all those maidens who come to me?
Complaining someone stole their butter and it was, as again, thee.

The world may say, as the preserver you are born,
But you'll always be a child to be protected, as I'd sworn.

The world tells me "Yashoda, your son is no ordinary"
"He is above all, profit, loss, fear and bravery"

The world claims everything is your leela and trust is the key,
Well, it's all your naughtiness, don't I see?

Prank, tease, steal, then make your way out in hurry,
Lallaa, I do have a million reasons to just worry.

But just when you look at me whilst I sit defeated and angry,
You come into my arms and I simply find no greater reverie.
