THREE THINGS I HAVE LEARNED

THREE THINGS I HAVE LEARNED

1: Man, I have learned a lot. First thing, really, is the 'color dodge' for lighting haha. Well, the three layer rule for a nice glow: soft light, color dodge, and soft light. I had no idea that there was a different setting beyond 'normal' for the brushes, so in the previous color any lighting I attempted would appear flat or mask the models beneath in this murky haze.

2: Second big one for me would be how to cut XD. I did not know how and would do it ALL by hand and by eraser. Now, I know how to use the 'refine edge' tool to make those small spikes on top of the dragon appear more natural. It's good for hair as well. I like a lot. Makes me less want to chuck my computer across the room.

3: Burn tool and dodge tool has saved me. I don't have to use the brush anymore and highlight with black or white. I was literally using the brush tool for EVERYTHING.

TWO THINGS I WISH I KNEW WHEN STARTING DESIGNING

1: That there were such things as PNGs.

2: The soft light and color dodge option for brushes.
