An obscene yawn resounded from Ladaysha as she moved to rub her eyes blissfully. Ally shot her a glance that read equal parts compassion for her tiredness and questioning of the timing.

Ladaysha shrugged in response and allowed her guitar to lay inattentively on her lap. Angela frowned as she saw Ladaysha lose interest in the process and turned to Wesli who only shook her head sleepily.

"Jesus guys, what have we become?" The question, though fully serious by nature, was followed by a disheartening laugh, "We've finally lost it."

She glanced to her phone, lacking of notifications and reading a time of only 11:30, and returned her gaze to her crew.

"Look man, don't say that. There's still potential here," Angela encouraged, now realizing Ladaysha was face first asleep into the cushion of the couch, "We just need some motivation."

Ally seemed hopeless over the situation, "What if there is no motivation?" After asking she mentally wished she could take the question back as it gave Angela a face of such utter disapproval, one which she wished shed never have to again bare witness to.

"There's always motivation. Perhaps it just lies asleep at night and will rise when we do with the sun," her statement almost baffling herself she rose to her feet and grabbed a blanket, tossing it nonchalantly to Ally and another one to Wesli, and lightheartedly demanded, "Go to bed."

Ally waved her off and sunk back into the cushion, alongside Wesli, and feeling herself collapse into them. Awoken a mere half of an hour later, she noticed Angela hadn't returned and decided to investigate. Should she not find her, perhaps she needed the walk anyways.

The apartment hallway seemed neverending and ever expanding as she stumbled to Angela whom she noticed was resting on a balcony overlooking the solemn alleyway, her eyes to the stars, a rusty staircase beneath her and blocking pieces of her view above.

Silence overtook them as their eyes met and Ally reached out a hand. Without hesitation Angela grasped it and lifted herself to her feet, the warmth from where her arms had hugged her legs leaving her, and the warmth from Ally's hand replacing it.

The grasp lasted longer than expected and was followed by Ally spinning around to begin climbing the stairs, dragging Angela behind her.

As they reached the roof they looked upon all that surrounded them and the feeling of surreal and overwhelming content filled them both.

The sky was clear but stars barely came into view from the bright city lights. Ally made a mental note and drew Angela over towards the looming ledge.

Taking a breath and resting her hands on the ledge, Ally reluctantly broke the silence, "Do you see those stars?"

Angela followed her gaze and nodded, "Not very well though."

Ally chuckled, "And not just because your blind, but because they're dim."

Angela chuckled and nodded along, allowing Ally to continue, "Well, you see, they're dim because the lights down here surrounding them are vastly brighter."

"If this is comparing us to the stars and those around us to the city just tell me that it's not going to be the opposite of a peptalk," Angela joked, half serious in nature.

"Not necessarily," Ally assured, receiving an eyeroll which she assumed meant she could continue, "But if we jumped in a car and drove that road below us to the ocean, following the sun, following the blue skies," she paused, "When night came those stars could shine brighter. They would be vastly more appreciated..."

Angela nodded, following what she had said, "West coast here we come?"

"Yeah. Maybe a change of pace is just what we need," Ally shrugged.

"Never turn down the chance to follow the blue skies," Angela teased.

Admiration they hadn't seen from each other in a while filled their eyes and small smiles crept on to their faces.

Ally gently brushed past her and patted her back, "Ill see you downstairs."

As Angela's eyes returned to the skies she muttered, "Adventure here we come..." And gradually made her way back to the comfort of their small apartment.

Their world was about to change.
