I remember a day,
a day so vague
that I probably conjured it up.
It was a sunny day
with small rain showers
occurring here and then.
Everything was luscious and green,
and the chalk smeared the sidewalk.
a barf of Crayola and.. something else
I remember a sound,
a sound I haven't heard in ages
of laughter and splashes.
My eyelids were fluttered shut,
but my ears were perked up
I heard joyous cacophony, accompanied with a sweet melody.
I remember a smell,
a smell so faint
that I probably have smelt it once in my lifetime
It was a mixture of fresh rain
and something metallic.
It was salty but fresh.
I remember saying
something I haven't said since then
a childish belief,
"If it rains on a sunny day, an elephant has given birth,
and today my darling,
a village of elephants have been born.'
I remember feeling the warm sun
and drizzles of rain splattering over me
I remember warmth and color flooding me.
I remember a Rainbow.
