The voices are muted as if I'm submerged into water. All the sixteen year olds are gathered today to attend the Choosing Ceremony; to make the biggest descision of their life. I stand with them as I wait for my name to call out. I catch my father's eyes on me.

You know where you belong, Tobias. I know you do.

I want to refuse his last words because I do not know where I belong. In my father's grasp of control, or the freedom, any other faction could give me? My hands turn numb when I let out a shaky breath.

Freedom. I'm willing to choose any other faction, just to escape my father. Any other except Abnegation. I don't care if i got Abnrgation for my test result, I just don't want to be with my father.

A girl looks at me. I lower my head, to not attract attention. She can't possibly know me as a son of the Abnegation leader. Besides, I wear too much gray that it's enough for me to dissolve in an crowd of new initiates. At the same second, the girl turns her head back to the stadium.

"Eaton, Tobias."

My name is called and I see Max, leader of Dauntless, hand me a pointed knife. I walk up the stairs and take the knife from him. It's silver and can reflect my eyes. They're just blue, like father's. I turn it in my right hand and point the knife at my palm.

My eyes drift towards Marcus. He sits with the Abnegation, quiet and content, as if he knows what I will chose. The craving to prove Marcus wrong is so strong, I don't feel a sting as I carve a line through my skin.

I look down and see a bloody scar craddling in my hand.

"It's okay kid, take your time." Max whispers to me plainly. I want to snap back that a vulture in the Abnegation Sector is right now scrutinizing my every move as we talk and one wrong fidget will lead me to bruises.

Instead, I don't say a thing. I want to join Dauntless, I really do. Candor would make me dig out all my secrets; I haven't been Erudite even though I'm good with computers and Amity is too cheerful and happy to embrace someone broken like me. Dauntless could be the haven where I could learn how to crush my father with my heels; the he does every time.

Only, I can't belong in Dauntless. Iff I choose them because I want to escape my father, they will ridicule me for being a coward, and never facing him head on. They wouldnever accept me if they knew I was never brave. But still, it's worth a try.

The blood collects even more and I peer into the two bowls. Should my blood seep in the gray stones or sizzle in black coal? I am torn between two choices. I want to be safe but do want to belong.

As I move my hand to the Dauntless bowl, knowing what awaits me there, I jerk my hand to the Abnegation bowl. Abnegation. I'm Abnegation.

"Abnegation!" Max announces, only, none of the Abnegation cheer for me. Ofcourse they wont. They know I can't leave them. They think I am what my fathers pretends to say about me. I just hope I prove them right.

Only problem? I won't escape my father's grasp. Never.

So, a new book. It's from Four's point of view, you see. I want to try a theory that Tris and Four will still end up together AND save the factions, even when choosing Abnegation. Ofcourse, it'll be a lot more different and there will have to be some action. Well, I'll update soon enough. K. Bye.
