Kurokko's pov
It was late Friday night, and I was at home on my laptop talking to friends. They all eventually had to go, so I text Snow. "Hey, still up?" I asked, hoping he would be.
"Hey Kuro, cant text now at a party, ttyl!" He answered. At a party...? He didn't tell me he was going to a party tonight.
"Who's party is it?" I asked, wondering if he would answer.
It took a while, but he eventually did.
"Sorry it took so long Kuro, I just got home," he answered at twelve, two hours after I asked him. "It was Maddison's party. I thought you would be there.." he said, and I was guessing if we were talking straight to face he would've sounded surprised. "She said she invited everyone, but Lily and Ava weren't there either.. Everyone knows she throws good parties, who wouldn't come?"
"Snow, I wasn't invited. I've never heard anything about that party, I doubt Maddison's ever talked to me.." I text back. Everyone was invited? Bs. She wouldn't invite everyone and most people know that. But why did she invite Snow..? "Snow, why would Maddison invite everyone? That doesn't sound like her and you know it. Can I face time you?"
"Sure" he replied. I called him, and he was just as surprised as I was. We didn't think up anything that could've been planned, Lily, Ava, and I have nothing in common. At two in the morning we both had to leave, and I slept on it. What's one thing Ava, Lily, and I have in common?
"Aha!" I said aloud on accident. I quickly cut myself off, not wanting to wake my parents. That's it! I thought, I figured it out! The one thing Ava, Lily, and I have in common is our tails! We all have more than one! I have two, Lily has five, and Ava has three! But why would that even matter..? No one has ever separated us before.. unless... I sat up and reached to my backpack on the end of my bed, pulling out my history book. I quickly flipped the pages, trying to find Chapter 9. There it is! I half-read the pages trying to find the old war. Ah, here it is. I found the few pages about the war were the 'wizards' and normals fought. The Kitsunés were the wizards. In the history of this country the Kitsunés with many tails had a powerful magic, and were considered outcasts and threats... which they weren't.. The Kitsunés and normals fought the Great War, and the normals came out victorious. All the Kitsunés were either banished or killed. But not in other places. My dad is a Kitsuné, and my mother a normal. My dad has three tails, and I inherited one of them along with one from my mother. I'm a two-tailed Kitsuné, the most common and 'boring', according to the Wikipedia. Is that why Maddison didn't invite Ava, Lily, and I? We are the only Kitsunés in her grade. In the whole school, actually. But that's just old history! It doesn't mean anything now! Why would that make her not invite us? I texted Snow, forgetting how early it was. "Snow! I figured it out!" I frantically waited for a response.
"what..?" He answered back. I suddenly remembered it was four A.M.
"Ha, sorry 😅 I forgot how early it was." I text back. "But I figured out why Ava Lily and I weren't invited!!"
"Hmm, why?" He asked, probably tired.
"Hold on, can I face time you to explain it?" I asked, knowing it would be easier to say than to write.
"Sure," he replied, "Just don't get loud." He face timed me, and I started to explain.

"But why would that even matter..?" I ended and looked back at the laptop. He looked a little surprised and sad. "What's wr-"
"Kuro, have you not seen the news...?" He looked the same, but now a little confronting..
"No... why..?" I asked. What happened..? He sounds really serious about this...
"Kuro, last Monday on the news a Kitsuné accidentally blew a whole building up. The police took him up and are now trying to get all the police in every city to interview all the Kitsunés." He explained sympathetically.
"Wha- did you... did you know that was why she didn't invite me?! Did you know she didn't in the first place?! How could you not tell me Snow!" I said, upset and filled with many different emotions.
"Kuro! I thought you of all people would know! It's not my job to tell you the international news! I just thought you didn't want to talk about it! And why would I lie to you about the party! I had no idea!" He shouted, but lowered his voice trying not to wake anyone.
We sat in silence for a few minutes..
"Snow I'm sorry.." I finally said, breaking the silence. "I know it's not your job to tell me everything and I shouldn't have and I-" I started, my emotions pouring out as well as my tears.
"Kuro." Snow interrupted. I looked down at my laptop. "It's okay Kuro." He smiled warmly. "I'm sorry too," He said. I sniffled, tears laced down my cheeks.
"I wish we could hug right now Snow." I said. We talked until the sun came up.
