Abhorred Adoration?

Preface

"So the new girl, did you see her?" Bhaskar asked. Tomal turned, squinting his brows against the harsh glare of the sun, "that blind girl? What about her? Plus, did you see her face? Apparently she is a victim of acid attack. Don't waste your time on her, dude. She is, in short, scary." The whoosh sound tore through the air as the football hit the net, taking the goalkeeper with it. They all turn to look at the net with shock and then turned to cheer for the best player of their team, Akav. He grinned, that one-sided crooked grin. Not too big, not too small. As if, it was normal, that goal was nothing. Well, for him it was nothing. He clapped the goalkeeper and helped him to stand up. After all, Vivan was his best friend and their team's one of the best player. "Dude! I play for this team too, you know? Relax!" He chided with a grin. Akav slapped his shoulder for good measure and then looked back. "What were you all saying? What girl?" The practice session ended as soon as Akav flicked his hands as a sign of dismissal. "Well, a new girl joined the school today. Her name is Anvi. Shreya told me, she looks like a walking nightmare. What with half of her face scarred for a lifetime. And her eyes are white like those horror movie ghosts. You know? She looks so horrible that you might vomit if you have something in your stomach. I saw her in the hallway and I can say, even the nun from Conjuring 2 looked beautiful compared to her. Yuck!" They all laughed at Bhaskar's horrified face. Akav looked past Bhaskar and saw his girlfriend, Lila rushing towards him in her cheerleader costume. He smirked, well, he won a bet. A bet, where he can have a night out with her in his house. That would be great. "So, she is ugly. Why did you think, it would be good to inform me about a trash anyway? I am a sucker for pure beauty. She is surely not something, I would take an interest in. Right? Well, why me? No one will take interest in her anyway." Akav stopped on his ramble as Lila almost fell in his arms, laughing. "Hey, babe. You look so happy. Is it because your boyfriend won the bet?" He smirked down at her. She pushed him playfully, "no, stupid. I am happy because I got to pick on a girl today. She dared to collide with me. And you know the worst part? Half of her face was like, dripping meat. Yuck! I had to take a shower in our locker room then change!" Vivan shook his head, "stop talking like that. she is ugly because of that acid attack, which was, I am sure, not her fault. Stop making her life miserable. She is going through enough as I can see. And Lila, she collided with you because, as Bhaskar said, she cannot see. She is blind. Stop making fun of someone's disabilities." They all looked at Vivan as if he had grown two pairs of heads. Then Akav raised his brows at him, "you did not even see her, bro? still taking her side? What? Love at first sound of her name or something? Chill! We are just saying, what is the truth. Is not it?" Akav could see Vivan did not like his comment but he decided to ignore him. He turned towards his teammates and grinned, "Okay, let's go and see that half boiled girl, yeah?"
