Prologue

I have always loved the winter until now.
I'm sitting next to my sister in a carriage that is taking us to an orphanage.
Our parents died 3 days ago and we have nothing apart from our cloths and a few memories. 

Sophie my older sister is holding me protectively in her arms. As we near the orphanage it surprises me that it is in fact dark and gloomy. I only thought that the books were meant to scare kids away. 

Apparently not. 

The carriage stops in front of the gate and me and Soph jump out. A model like looking lady comes and greets us. She has blond glossy hair coming to her shoulders in a neat style and she is quite tall. Here she welcomes us into a nightmare...
