Sneak Peek – One Step At A Time (One of the Boys Sequel)

Hello lovelies! For those of you who don't know me, my name is Rachel. Better known as knightsrachel. I've been on Wattpad for 4 years now, which is crazy for me to think about.

So for those of you who do know me, and read my works, you know that I always keep 2 stories updating at a time. But outside of Wattpad, that's not the case. I keep multiple story ideas going, sometimes just the synopsis and sometimes even the first multiple chapters.

Many of you guys, after One of the Boys ended, asked me for a sequel. I told you that would never happen. Well that was back in 2012, and here in 2015, I have changed my mind. So without further ado, here's the synopsis and "first chapter" to the One of the Boys' Sequel, One Step At A Time (subject to change).

Synopsis:

Samantha Evans never imagined herself here. After four years of working harder than anyone she knew, of taking her Division Two football team to the championships two years running, she didn't imagine sitting at the NFL Draft... waiting for her brother's name to be called.

Samantha Evans has it all. The heart, the soul, the willpower. But what she doesn't have is the ability to change society's viewpoint of women in football. So she accepts a coaching position at her old high school, in her previous hometown, hoping to inspire others to do the great things she just couldn't seem to get to.

Jacob Anderson had it all. The fame, the attention, the glory. As a Heisman trophy nominee and an All-American offensive lineman two years running, nobody questioned his standings in the NFL Draft. Until the day that changed his life.

Jake finds himself back in his hometown, facing challenges he never expected to have to overcome. And he's doing it all alone, after alienating the only true friends he's ever had.

Can Jake and Sam reconcile their differences? Or is it too little, too late for this once inseparable friendship duo?

Sneak Peek:

"The Oakland Raiders are now on the clock," the NFL Draft announcer called out.

I exchanged nervous glances with Brennan.

"Do you think?" I whispered.

He just shrugged.

I looked over at Wesley, where he was sitting at a table, surrounded by his family and best friend, Nathan Graham.

We locked eyes and he offered me a nervous smile.

I flashed him a genuine one in return.

Wesley Morris deserved this more than any person I knew.

And then the auditorium illuminated with the famous words. The pick is in.

I exchanged nervous glances with Brennan before looking back over at Wesley.

He was smiling from ear-to-ear.

And then the announcer took the stage, and cheers erupted from the auditorium.

It had to be Wesley.

"And with the fourth pick of the 2015 NFL Draft," the announcer called out. "The Oakland Raiders select... Wesley Morris."

I jumped to my feet, cheering as Wesley stood up, his arms first wrapping around Nathan before he hugged all of his family.

"Wide receiver, Alabama," the announcer finished.
