All Katelyn Summers could ever wish for was the small, simple, quiet life she had. No, she wasn't the stereotypical "nerd" or "quiet" girl in every story. Where was the need to be in the spotlight 24/7 at school, or go to every party, or keep up wit...
Hearing both of their voices disagreeing at the same time again for the 100th time. I groaned in frustration leaning back on the door to my bathroom. Currently, Aaron and Amanda were 'helping' me pick what to wear to Jake's party tonight. I'd changed at least 5 times already and it was always the same. Amanda would say she liked it and my brother would say it was too short or make up some stupid excuse so I wouldn't wear it.
"What now Aaron?"
"Because...what if you're jumping while dancing...or something and some douche grabs you?"
Being the overprotective brother, I knew letting him help pick wasn't a good idea but he insisted. And something to know about the Summers family was, we're all pretty dang stubborn.
Giving up on getting their input, I went back into my closet while they weren't paying attention. Grabbing the first black dress I saw, I slipped into my bathroom quickly changing out of my school clothes from earlier today.
Taking a look at myself in the full length mirror, I grinned knowing that this was what I wanted to wear. Touching up my hair I had curled about an hour ago, I applied a minimal amount of makeup and pulled on the pair of black heels I grabbed along with the dress.
Opening the door, it seemed like they were done glaring at each other when they both turned to look at me.

Looking at Aaron, his eyes had widened looking at what I was wearing.
"Yes! That's the one!"
My best friend jumped up from her seat on my bed next to my brother squealing in excitement.
"Erm...are you sure about that Kate?"
He narrowed his eyes at me and I would admit, it was a little short.
"Would you let your girlfriend wear this if you had one?"
"Yeah."
"Would you let your sister wear this?"
"No."
He deadpanned looking at me if I was stupid.
"Then it's settled, I'm wearing it."
"Kate."
"I'll be fine Aaron besides, I already agreed to no drinking and you can beat the crap out of whoever you want."
Taking his hand and pulling him up from my bed, he grinned remembering as he slung one arm around my shoulders and the other around Amanda's'.
