An old legend says that there were four sisters. Each of these sisters was gifted with an element. They controlled their element and ruled their element. These sisters were also shapeshifters. The oldest, Air, is the High Queen of the Shapeshifters. The second oldest, Earth whom this story is about, is the 2nd Queen. She will rule when Air's time on this planet is done. The third sister, Fire, is but a young princess, with a fiery heart and a rebellious soul. And finally, the fourth. Her name is Ocean, and she is evil. Her soul, like the water from which she was formed, is dark and mysterious. She is last in line for the throne and will do anything to take it.

This legend has long since been forgotten in the Werewolf world and the Shapeshifters have been pronounced extinct. But hidden in a secret world, the shapeshifters still roam, thousands of them.

The water swirled around them, flowing through their souls and enhancing their magic

The water swirled around them, flowing through their souls and enhancing their magic. The four woman swayed with the glowing liquid, their hands intertwined. Their golden cloaks began to glow, their hair flowing beyond them.

The leader, a tall beautiful blonde, raised her head, her lips of crimson forming ancient words. She began to chant.

Soon, the others joined in. Their voices ringing through the cavern, echoing back towards them.

Suddenly, a bright white light shone through the darkness, it's ethereal glow swallowing all before it. Just as quickly as it arrived, the light left, leaving behind a woman. She was unlike the cloaked women, for she was a Goddess. The protector of life itself.

"My children," Her voice was smooth yet sharp. It cut down the chanting of the four, silence rung through the stone walls.  "My four beautiful daughters, why have you called upon my presence?"

"Mother Life." They spoke in sync, their hands still connected, they formed a ring around the Goddess.

"We seek your guidance, Mother." The blonde spoke, blue eyes clashing with white. "We have done all you ask, protecting our realms, protecting the people, yet, we are unsatisfied. Our hearts seek adventure, Mother, the chance to use the powers you have blessed us with."

"I see." She spoke shortly, turning quickly to the youngest sister. "What is it you want, protector of the Sea?"

The dark haired girl looked up at Mother Life, her eyes full of mischief.

"I want to rule along side you Mother, I want to see the world as you do." Her voice rose and fell in waves.

"You wish to be a Goddess." Mother Life was not blind, for she had been watching the youngest for quite some time. "You wish for more power."

She paused to stare into the ocean blue eyes of the youngest.

"I cannot punish you for being who you are, as with the water you were created from, you shall wish for more, you shall try to take the lands protected by your sisters, but you shall never succeed. As is the way of the water. I will, however, grant you one thing."
