Chapter 3- The Spirit

unsheath and raise my sword in an instant, parrying her initial blow. She draws back with a shriek, her eyes pools of molten fury.
Then I hear an otherworldly scream, a scream which forces me onto my knees. This hasn't happened before. I try to force my way through the nauseating screams and continue to fight, and, gaining a certain amount of my balance back, I do. The screams fade around me and then it's just the spirit and I again. Time to fight some more.
Another shriek.
She rushes at me, and I can't stop her.
Within seconds, her sword plunges into my arm, eliciting a scream from my already sore throat.
I pass out from the pain.
