I give it a 5 out of 10 and even there I'm not quite sure if it deserves it. I am not saying the movie isn't great because of the concept and the idea of the movie especially the main subject of such a young guy doing all theses stuff by himself to provide for his family.
PS: I want to give a special shoutout to all the young people striving and working hard to provide for his family. That's something I have major respect for.
My review is not going to be too long since it's 2 AM in Canada and I got the church to head to tomorrow or more like in a few hours. So to come back to the movie. It was cool. I didn't hate it. I think it could've been more developed and more you know letting us get into the characters. I would've loved to be able to know the character on a more deeper level. We mostly saw this guy hustling and doing all theses magic tricks and getting into a bunch of problems that he had to solve using magic wich was great. I would've also loved to see a deeper connection between the main character and his sister. I felt like they were acting which they were but you know acting means sell me your character and make me attached to them so that didn't really happen.
They touched a little bit the subject of domestic violence which is something that I didn't really see coming from that movie but awareness is everywhere nowadays and that's fine with me. We gotta let the people know that some things ain't right.
The actors well they did their job and yeah they were acting didn't like much of their acting but you know Jacob Latimore is getting better way better than in the other movie he did with Jennifer Hudson something about Christmas and all that. The other girl is probably going to get other roles to some place because she looks nice in a movie. She has that type of natural beauty the type they probably are looking for in the industry of movies. Who knows what is going on in there? What types of conversations they have after auditions? If anybody knows let me know. I'm curious
I hated the end of the movie though the way they ended it made me feel like it was a pilot for a new show and that just started and that I have to wait till next week to watch what happened and to know more.
