(Alison POV)
I stared at the paper in front of me. "Oh My Dollar Valentines", why was I doing this? I have a boyfriend and I was hoping Jeff wasn't doing this. I grabbed the paper and put it in the trash leaving the class room. It was the end of the day and I decided to visit Jeff and Clay at the library. When I arrived I saw the two working on some class stuff. I walked behind Jeff and covered his eyes. He chuckled and grabbed my hands, kissing them. "Hey babe, visiting us two?," he asked and I said yeah. I sat next to him and looked at his paper. Ah, History, the one class I like.
I looked up and saw Clay writing on a paper. Jeff looked over and grabbed the paper and Clay tried to grab it. "Oh My Dollar Valentines?," Jeff asked him and he said I'm just trying to get someone. I grinned and Jeff started working on Clay's paper. Clay mentioned that he used to binge watch the Lord of the Rings and Troy asking him he used to. Later I left the two so they can work and I saw Hannah. "Going somewhere?," I asked her and she quickly hid a paper behind her. I grabbed it and saw the same paper Clay had.
"Ah, trying to get Clay?," I asked her and she blushed saying maybe. I laughed and told her good luck. She said thanks and left heading to the office to turn her paper in. Later I saw her again and she looked upset. "Hey, you didn't get him?," I asked her and she handed me her paper. The first two people she got was Bryce and Marcus. What the fuck? "How do you get those two?," I asked her and she shrugged. "I'll give Marcus a chance," she said and I shook my head. "Hannah, just because he's on your list doesn't mean you should be with him. Be careful," I said and she muttered I'll be fine. Just trying to help dude. I walked away and headed home.
A couple of days later I heard Marcus tried to do something to Hannah and Zach tried to help her out but she told him to leave her alone. I sat in my car staring at the steering wheel. Everything happened because she got involved with those guys. After hearing Marcus and Zach tapes made me think about why I tried to help Hannah. I wanted to help her but she always dismissed some of the situations like it was no big deal. I shook my head and drove off home. When I arrived I saw Justin outside. I hopped out and he grabbed my wrist. "What the hell Justin!?," I yelled at him and he pulled me inside. Zach, Alex and Jessica was there waiting for us.
"How far? How far are you with the tapes?," he asked me and I said got done with Zach. After the whole tape thing, Clay did more things, scratching something on Zach car and Justin still threatening to kill Clay. Clay been causing a lot of problems lately and I'm worried about him. He's my friend and I know that things will be worse by the day. I walked into the parking lot to hear screaming. I ran over to a big crowd to see Montgomery and Alex fighting. "What happened?," I asked Justin and he said Montgomery almost ran Alex over and Alex got pissed.
"Montgomery! Get off him!," I yelled and he stopped to look at me. Alex went to hit him but two teachers came over and grabbed the two. After the fight I grabbed Justin wrist pulling him over to the benches. "Why is Clay bothering Sheri?," I asked him and he shifted a bit. After a couple of days since I heard Zach tapes, Clay been bothering Sheri. "Uh, Sheri is on the tapes," he said and my eyes widened. For what though? I walked in and saw Clay talking to some students, guessing they're new. He started yelling a lot at the group and I grabbed his arm pulling him away. "Clay, you been acting up," I said and he ripped his arm away. "You should talk," he said and I gave him a confused look.
Lunch came around after Clay outbreak and I saw Ryan, Courtney, Zach, Alex and Marcus sitting at the table. "Guys, what's up?," I asked them and Courtney glared at me. "Your friend is acting up," she said and Ryan rolled his eyes. "You should talk," he said and I looked at Alex. "The tapes Alison, why are you listening to them? You on them?," Alex asked me and I raised my eyebrow. "Am I?," I asked him and Zach gulped. "Uh, we don't know," he said and Alex glared at him. "We're actually talking about Bryce," Ryan said and Courtney said hush. "Fuck off Courtney. You're are defending a rapist," he said and I gave him a confused look.
"A rapist?," I asked them and Zach said," You aren't far Alison." "Far of what? Bryce raped someone?," I asked him and Alex said it doesn't matter. I shook my head and walked away. "Clay, I have to know, am I on the tapes?," I asked him when I saw him at his locker. "Maybe, maybe not. Go to my house at five," he said and left. I need to know, if I caused her death. I faintly remember since I wanted to forget it. By the time school ended I didn't want to see the group. They know something and I have a feeling Justin knows more than he lets on. By five I was at Clay house and I said play Sheri tape again. When he did I regretted it all.
Jeff said Jessica had a party and he made Clay go. He wanted me to go even though I'm not a huge fan of parties. Drinking and high schoolers together doesn't go well. When I arrived with Jeff there was a lot of people already. We saw Clay and Jeff said hang on. I walked inside and grabbed a soda. "Hey Alison," Jessica said and I muttered hey. When she left me be Jeff found me. "So, since Clay convinced Hannah to come, we might get them together," he said and I laughed. "Babe, I think you're obsessed in getting them together. That's why I love you. You care so much," I said kissing him. He smiled in the kiss and pulled back.
After a while I was getting bored. Jeff had two drinks two hours ago and Hannah took off upstairs for some reason. Jeff walked over to Clay and asked him why he was leaving. I walked over and Clay explained that it didn't go well with Hannah. I frowned and said," Sorry that it didn't go well Clay. Hope it gets better." He said thanks and Jeff said he was going for a beer run. "Babe, you ok to drive?," I asked him and he said it's fine. Jeff said he'll see Clay on Monday and then pulled me in for a kiss.  I saw Hannah and Sheri walking out. "Leaving?," I asked her and she said yeah.
I hanged for a bit longer until I got a phone call. "Hello?," I asked the person and I heard someone crying. "Alison, its Clay. Listen, you need to come over to the intersection. Hurry, it's Jeff," he said and I gasped. I told him I'm coming and hung up. I ran all the way there, worried about Jeff. When I got there I saw two cars. They were both smashed in the front and I saw Clay standing there. "Alison, I already call 911.," he said and I ran by him. I saw it was an old guy in one of the vehicles until I looked at the other car. There in the car was Jeff, face bloodied, lifeless.
I started to cry and ran to his door, trying to open it. "It won't open," I said trying hard to get the door to open. I gave up and started to sob. I slid down the car covering my face. Someone picked me up and I put my face in their shoulder. I started crying louder and Clay winced. The ambulance came and they pronounced Jeff dead at the scene.  They said he was drunk but we just talked to him and he was fine. The next few days was hard. Clay and I got angry at Hannah since she was trying to make Jeff death about her. Clay left her and Hannah tried to grab my arm.
I whipped around and said," I don't want to be your friend. Your problems seems to come into my life. Every time I try to stay away from your issues, I get dragged in them because of my brother friends." Walking away I left her there in the hallway. I been crying through the whole tape. Hannah was the cause of Jeff death. Her actions caused him to lose his life. The last thing me and him did was a kiss. "Alison, this is the next one," Clay said but I grabbed him. I hugged him, crying in his shoulder and he hugged back. "I'm sorry Alison. He was my best friend too. He didn't deserve to die," he said and I cried even harder.
After a bit I stopped crying and pulled back from Clay. "I'm sorry," I said and he said," No it's fine. We're both grieving. We both lost someone." I nodded my head and told him go ahead. I didn't know who was on the tapes next but me and Clay were both surprised.
