The crash landing

Luca sits on his bed quietly reading his favorite novel. When the steady movement of his family's ship comes to a sudden stop. He looks up from his book just as his mother comes rushing in

"Luca quickly get to your seat"she says with urgency. Luca nods immediately obeying his mother's command. He rushes back to the front of the ship with her. Where Luca's father is trying to gain control of the ship as quick as possible.

"Luca, Xavier hurry and buckle your seats" his mother commands. Luca Buckles into the seat and glances at his brother just as the whole ship drops at immense speed. Luca closes his eyes gripping the sides of his seat.

"BRACE FOR IMPACT" Luca's father shouts through the severe ringing of the ship's warning system. Luca's body is thrown forward only stopping against his thick woven seatbelt. When there is finally no movement and the warning bell stops. Luca opens his eyes to see his mother and father already unbuckling and checking the interior damage of the ship. Luca unbuckles as well and heads to his father's side waiting for instructions

"Luca check the air monitor, and xavier grab my scanner."His father says.
"Yes father" Luca and his brother say in unison before heading separate ways to follow the directions given. Luca reads the air monitor within seconds giving his father the clear. His father and mother then exit the ship. Luca waits patiently for the final call. Luca's mother and father enter the spaceship and then calculate the damage done,the supplies needed and the time it will take to be repaired.

"Xavier go get the concealer capsules" Luca's father tells his brother
"yes father" xavier replies heading to the back of the ship. "Mother why do we need the concealer capsules they taste unpleasant." Luca says scrunchy his face up at the thought.
"Are marks might frighten the people of this planet." His mother says softly while pouring water into small glasses .

"unfortunately we might be on this planet for a little while, and we must not draw attention to our differences." Luca's father says with a frustrated frown. Luca feels confused
"Aren't our differences what make us strong?" he questions

"of course, but the people of this planet have a different view" his mother says taking the package of capsules from his brother.
"Oh" luca says, and his mother hands him a capsule and a glass. Luca places the capsule and swallows the water washing the unfortunate tasting pill down his throat.

"Now head to your quarters Luca, we will scavenge the planet tomorrow " his mother says patting him on the head. Luca heads back to his room pulling down the soft fabric from his bed he curls up into a ball and then pulls the fabric back over himself. Burrowing into the cushiony bedding. He closes his eyes and falls into a peaceful sleep
