The Fallen Goddess

Prologue

I awoke to the smell of ash and smoke flooding through my lungs. My eyes widened and I looked out the window of our cottage in the trees and seen fire blaze through the forest. The trees engulfed in the flames, turning black then finally to ash. I quickly scrambled to my feet and looked down below to the town.

 People ran screaming in terror as they watched the fire consume most of the forest. The dragged the water cannons and pumped water from the lake that was by the house. The waves of water seemed to dull the fire, but not for long. A branch that burned to a crisp finally weakened and fell on the cannon.

 Watching the wooden contraption burning sent panic throughout my body and I fled out of the house and into the streets of the town. I looked around me, eyes wide with fear. Lavina's house! I ran as fast as I could up to her house but there was already a crowd of people banging on her door begging her to help them with her magic. I shoved my way through the crowd and knocked furiously. "LAVINA, LAVINA OPEN THE DOOR PLEASE!!!" I screamed.

 The door quickly flew open and she dragged me inside and slammed the door, locking it so the others couldn't come in.  "Lavina what is going on?!" I asked panting and sweating. The room was so dark I could barely see her face. There were only a few candles lighting her witch-crafting room. She lead me to her altar and got on her knees praying to the Gods. After she was finished with her small prayer she looked at me with tears and fear in her eyes. " Basinie, the Gods told me you were the chosen one, the one that has to start a new kingdom on a new planet." She said, her voice shook as much as her hands were. " Lavina, I don't understand what are you saying?" I said in a small voice. In all of my years of being with Lavina, I have never seen her this scared in my whole life. 

" Basinie, we all are going to die, we need you to flee. The Gods told me only you have the power of all four elements. You are the only one that can save our species." I nodded quietly. " But Lavina, we haven't started a new life in over 300 years. We stopped using magic a long time ago."

"Darling I would love to teach you how, but you have to go, now!" She said the panic in her voice was slowly getting more and more great. " Lavina, please-" " No you have to go now, run to the ship and go, get out of here before our existence  is no more!" I nodded and went for the door, but before I could open it, I heard my father's voice scream. " BASINIE GET OUT OF THERE!!! HURRY THERE IS A-" But it was too late, the rock had already crashed through, and everything was in slow motion. I saw the flaming rock get closer and closer until everything went black.
