You punch like a girl

Start from the beginning

I can't believe Dylan. He's making me seem like the bad guy. I should have killed those guys, but I didn't. That makes me merciful! That makes me a good person! Right?

Well I guess a good person doesn't go around killing people, however it makes me a better person than those two guys.

I wipe the sweat from my brow and continue with a punching sequence, grunting the whole time.

"Woah. Slow down you might break your wrist." A middle age man speaks up. I stop my punching to look at him. I'm pretty sure he's the owner. I'm not 100% positive.

"I'm fine." I mutter, trying to hold back a smirk.

If only he knew.

"Obviously you're not. What's on your mind?" He asks.

And for once I use this opportunity to act like a girl without being teased.

"So there's this guy right?" I start off with one of the most cliché lines. "And he's mad at me for something I did, that I can't specify, but it's totally unreasonable because if I didn't do the thing I would of gotten seriously hurt. And when it's between me getting hurt and a complete stranger, who deserves it, I'm picking the stranger." The man smirks at me as my face heats up in embarrassment. I just spilled my guts to a guy that I don't even know the name of.

"Sorry. What's your name?" I ask sheepishly. He grins as me, but continues to do whatever task he's doing at the desk.

"Freddie. And maybe you should stop putting yourself in compromising situations. Huh?"

"If only it were that easy." I mumble.

"My name's Lacey by the way." I introduce myself as well.

"I know." Freddie says with a smile. "I recognize you as the girl that comes in with her boyfriend all the time just to beat him up." I chuckle wryly at him.

"Something of the sorts." I grin at him before going back to beating the #@?! out of my punching bag.

I throw in some kicks, but keep it amateur for those few stalkers that like to watch people workout.

My hair starts falling into my face. It's grown out a bit, falling just above my shoulders.

Maybe I should let it grow out. I could dye it a different color. I'm thinking blonde or maybe a reddish brown.

I pull my hair up into a ponytail before gulping my bottled water.

I think that's enough for today. I throw on some sweat pants and a sweatshirt over my workout clothes that consist of a sports bra and nike pros.

I find myself in another convenient store, looking at hair colors. I could get hair extension. Nah that sounds like a bad idea.

I quickly buy a red-brown color before slipping into the bathroom. My bangs have grown out and I think I should give myself some shorter side bangs.

Quickly dying my now faded black hair that way I won't chicken out. This could turn out very bad. I messed up a little on the instructions and I'm not sure how it will turn out.

And don't even get me started on the damage I've done to my hair from all the dye. I've sacrificed so much for the sake of my identity.

I glance at my new hair in the mirror.

Not bad.

I run my hand through my hair before putting it up into a ponytail. I put my hood up and I'm sure I look like a hoodlum but I don't even care.

After much debating I finally decide to call Dylan. I need to check and make sure he hasn't gotten himself killed. For whatever reason what he thinks about me is important and I don't like the way he's thinking about me right now. I feel guilty even though I shouldn't.

#@?! him and these weird feelings he gives me.

I ring his phone, but only get his voicemail.

"Look. Stop being childish and pick up your #@?! phone. Or at least text me that way I know you're still alive." I quickly hang up the phone and walk into my apartment.

What an #@?!hole. I could be dying right now and he wouldn't even know because he refuses to answer his #@?! phone.

"Jazaline, we need to talk." Instead of showing my surprise at the unwanted guest in my house I pull out my gun and aim it at their head.

"Woah. Calm down Jaz." Once I realize who it is I put the gun down, smiling widely. I run to give her a hug.

"#@?! Sarah. Don't scare me like that."

"I've missed you too, little one."
