12. Friend Before Her Husband

"Wow! You... your voice... Aarav you sing amazing", Shreya breathened out her eyes filled with tears.

This song was her favourite song. A song which was filled with so much of love and passion. Hell! Who wasn't in love with the song. It was such a heart touching song sung by Arijit Singh.

"Thanks. You know I really love this song more than the movie. Too much emotions are filled in the song and Arijit Singh just made the song more special", Aarav said looking at her.

"Yeah I'm huge fan of Arijit Singh", Shreya said smiling.

"Me too"

"So back to our game. Favourite actor?"

"Akshay Kumar", Aarav said.

"What! seriously?", Shreya asked.

"Yeah. Yours?"

"Shahrukh Khan ", Shreya said dreamily.

"He's married and has kids, woman! Stop drooling over him", Aarav joked but hell he was a little jealous too.

"Are you jealous, patidev?", Shreya teased.

"Psst... no! He's old and I'm young and hotter than him", Aarav said smirking.

"But you don't have girls going crazy behind you!", Shreya said laughing.

"Ohh pleaseee!! If I was an actor half of the female population would be drooling over me", Aarav said.

"Yeah... yeah then even I would have tons of males drooling over me", Shreya said laughing.

"Uhh... whatever!", Aarav said changing the topic.

"Why whatever? Already jealous?", Shreya teased.

"Favourite movie?", Aarav asked diverting the topic.

"3 idiots", Shreya said grinning.

"Mine too", Aarav chirped.

"Aarav, I'm sleepy", Shreya said yawning.

"Take a nap. I will wake you up when we reach home okay?", Aarav said and glanced at her only to find her asleep.

She looks so cute like this, Aarav thought before diverting his attention back to the road.

          FINALLY THEY HAD reached their destination but it was raining outside. He didn't wanted to wake her up but he couldn't break her trust. He had told her, he won't touch her.

"Shrey baby, wake up", Aarav said softly.

"Go away let me sleep", Shreya groaned.

Aarav sighed and opened the window as the raindrops fell on Shreya's face, she woke up startled. She rubbed her eyes and looked outside.

"Aarav, look its raining!!", Shreya said excitedly.

"Yeah, I know", He said looking outside the window.

"I want to go out", Shreya said.

"You mean you want to get wet in the rain?"

"Yeah"

"I don't....."

But before he could complete his sentence, Shreya was out of the car. Aarav had no choice but to get out of the car. Shreya stood there with her hands wide open as she enjoyed the rain. It had been days since she willingly got wet in the rain.

Aarav stood near the car and watched her with a smile on his face. She really seemed to enjoy and he was happy because she was happy.

"Look at her, dude! She's look so sexy", a boy said.

Aarav heard someone say and he looked around to see a couple of boys looking at Shreya.

"Yeah man! She's looking like Raveena Tandon. What was that song?", another boy commented.

"Tip tip barsa pani... Pani ne aag laga di!", a boy sang and everyone laughed.

"True dude! Water did ignite fire", a boy said.

Aarav had listened enough. He couldn't just stand and there while a bunch of hormonal teenagers lusted over his wife.

He walked towards the group of boys and picked the boy who had called Shreya sexy by his collar.

"Don't you have any better work than staring at a woman who is older than you?", Aarav asked trying to control his anger.

"Dude, what is your problem? I can do whatever the hell I want who are you to ask me?", The boy replied.

"Who am I? I'm her husband you, moron! Do you expect me to stand there and listen to you and your friends gutteral talks?", Aarav asked his voice laced with anger.

"Your wife doesn't have any problem then why are you getting all riled up", the boy said.

That was the end of his patience. He punched the guy on his face. The boy fell down and immediately the other boys stood up, ready for a fight. Shreya opened her eyes and found Aarav fighting with some teenage boys.

She was scared of fights but she had to be brave for Aarav. She ran towards the car and taking the phone she dialled 100. Aarav had beaten all the guys and they were all lying on the road groaning. Aarav walked towards the car and opened its door. Pulling out his jacket from inside, he wrapped it around her fragile wet body.

Shreya was about to thank him when she saw one of the guys standing behind Aarav with a rod in his hand. Almost ready to hit him with it.

"AARAV!!!", Shreya screamed.

Aarav turned around in alert and caught the rod before the guy could hit him. He grabbed the rod and threw it away before punching the guy for the last time.

He turned around and found Shreya looking at him with tearful eyes. The thought of anything happening to him killed her. She ran in his direction and threw her arms around his neck hugging him like her life depended on it. She broke down in his arms whilst Aarav wrapped his hands around her and rubbed her back.

"Are you mad? Who picks up fights like this, Aarav? What if something would have happened to you? What would I tell Maa and Papa?", Shreya asked sobbing in his arms.

"Shhh...Shrey, please stop crying", Aarav said rubbing her back.

The sound of sirens caught their attention. Shreya pulled away wiping her tears while Aarav explained the entire incident to the cops. The cops dragged the boys away in the vehicle.

Once the cops were gone Aarav walked towards Shreya and placed his hand on her shoulder. This time Shreya didn't flinch instead she kept her head on his shoulder snuggling in his comfort and safe arms hoping she had never gone out in rain.
