Summary Clarissa Ashdown lives a life no one would ever want to look at. She is beaten, abused, and tortured. Clarissa desperately wants to know why she was left behind with the monsters who look like ones who used to love her. Her only escape is when she closes her eyes. Where for a while she is in control of everything. This is her only way of maintaining hope. Hope that one day the monsters' hearts will stop beating and become lifeless. But will her hope conquer all? At some points, she really starts believing what they say. Is there no one at all out there who will spare the broken girl a glance?
