They heard something go off. Dogs barking and police sirens from a distance. They waited until the coast was clear and followed the noises. They made their way into an Alley.

They stood there, wondering how so much blood can come from one body. The holes in her skin told of a messy end. It didn't take them a second to figure out who the young girl was. It was Lydia. Piper’s younger sister. She laid there motionless, stiff with eyes wide open. Who would do such a thing to something so small and defenseless? Rosie turned to Venus. Rosie saw that the blank emotionless expression swept over her face as the realization of the moment gradually seeped in. Venus was crying and eventually so was Rosie. It was cold and dark out. The smell of salt and garbage began to sink in. They both covered their noses. They saw the graffiti printed on the grey brick walls of the Alley. Blue Jays printed everywhere. They finally figured out what must have happened. Lydia was on the J-Walkerz property. They instantly knew it had to be one of them. "We have to go!" Venus said whimpering. “What about... Lydia" Rosie said. Her voice seemed caught in her throat as she struggled to form the words. The sound of the sirens grew… they were near. "I CAN'T GET CAUGHT I'LL GO TO JAIL!" Venus yelled as she dragged Rosie with her. They ran until they finally arrived at the Mid-Night Prowlers hide out. It was in an abandoned gym. There was no light of course, everything was dark the only thing giving them light was the moons glisten, as the windows above the gym had a perfect view. They saw Zeke, Rosie’s brother, sitting on the bench next to the lockers and quickly ran to him. "Whoa! What happened?" Zeke asked with his forehead wrinkled in confusion. Rosie tried speaking but was too flustered to make a sound. All she could do was hug him. He brushed her long brown hair with his fingers and held her tight. "Lydia...was shot." Venus said trying to stop the tears. He looked up at her bewildered at what she just said. “We left after we heard the cop cars." Rosie managed to let out. "I'll tell her..." Zeke said and gently let go of his younger sister. He cleared his voice trying to show no emotion. He always wanted people to see him as tough and nonchalant. Venus hugged Rosie. Venus held Rosie in her arms. "I know what those bastards did to your parents and why it reminds you of what happened..." she went on.  "We'll get through this."

The sky was grey and it seemed as if the sun will never shine again on the day of Lydia's funeral. Piper waited across the street, trying to be discrete. She spotted her parents. The woeful look on their faces made her heart sink. Over the years, there are things you will have to accept about your parents. They're not the nicest people in the world, especially Piper's. This is the main reason Piper ran away. Piper ran across the street as soon as the rest of the mourners exited the funeral home. She made her way through the glass doors to see the lifeless body of her younger sister. The scent of Violets filled the room surrounding her like a fog. There she laid comfortably, with her long black hair brushed back giving a good view of her small face. Her once olive toned skin now blue. Piper looked at the cadaver head to toe. She didn't have the strength to say any words. Her eyes bleed with pain. She reflected on her mortal life, knowing that it would all be gone soon. Piper collapsed on the floor. Swollen with emotions and the realization of her young sister’s fate. Someone's hand suddenly grasped her shoulder. It was the funeral director. Piper thought the room was empty, had she been watching her cry her eyes out this entire time? "You know her?" she inquired. "Yeah..." Piper replied. "It was sad the way she died...   I wonder who did this..." she said. "I'm going to find out." Piper managed to let out while then storming out of the funeral home.

“I’LL KILL EM!" Vladimir said livid at what Venus and Rosie had just told the rest of the gang. They explained what they figured was what happened to Lydia. “THAT IS THE LAST STRAW... TOMORROW... WE FIGHT!" Piper said, with her mouth quivering. "YEAH!" they all yelled in unisons. “Zeke! You know how I feel about you fighting." Rosie said concerned with empathy. Rosie never approved of her older brother, the only person she can rely on, being in something as life risking as a gang. However she knew everyone in the gang and trusted that they would keep one another safe. “This is for Lydia, don't you understand! This is important to Piper...think of it as...uh…what it’s called… I got it…retaliation." He explained. Piper interrupted, “SHOW NO MERCY!" she chanted. Rosie is so tired of all this gang stuff, she decides to leave. “Fine, just trying to keep you safe." She said under her breath while making her way out of the door. The hustle and bustle of the city life was too much for Rosie at the time. She wanted to get her mind off of things. The streets were packed with pedestrians. The exhaust from several cars filled the atmosphere. She buttoned up her cardigan and continued walking. The Sun was finally setting as she entered a small Diner near the hide out. There they were. The J-Walkerz, she couldn't help but gaze at them. Their skin was so... bronzed and vibrant. They were all beautiful. She gave them a dark stare as she passed by them. She decided to sit down and eat before going home. She could see with her peripheral vision that the gang was staring at her. She sat a few tables across from theirs.

After eating she gently leaves the tip for the waiter with the check on the table. She walked into the bathroom. The diner was nice but her high expectations faded as she entered the restroom. It was a mess, toilet paper and general trash on the floor. The smell was unbearable but she could not leave without washing her hands. As she finished drying a handsome guy walked in. Rosie found him extremely attractive and could not help but stare. That is definitely someone Piper would describe as a “Papi-chulo." Their eyes finally met. He smiled flirtatiously and explained “You’re in the wrong bathroom." Her cheeks darkened as she looked around. "Oh…Well this is embarrassing." She replied. They both began to laugh. She began making her way out. He quickly, and smoothly, grabbed her by the hand. “You’re cute... you don't have to leave you know." He winked. "What’s your name?" he wondered. “Rosie…How about you?" She bit down on her bottom lip. "Leo." He responded. Rosie looked down at his hand which was still wrapped around hers." Um, Can I get my hand back?" Rosie asked and she blushed. Leo let go of her hand and smirked as he watched her blush. She looked up at him. He had perfectly gelled up hair, gorgeous green eyes, and something about him just made him irresistible. He was normal something she needed out of this kind of gang life. "So you come around here often?" He asked and smiled at her." What kind of question is that" Rosie said and Leo stood quiet. She let a shrill of laughter and she gave him a heartwarming smile. “I’m kidding" she said and they laughed together. After they stopped laughing, they just stood there staring at each other. “I think we could find a better place to hang out, instead of a public bathroom" Leo said and Rosie nodded." I agree" Rosie said as she looked at the disgusting bathroom." Well then meet me here" Leo said as he grabbed a sharpie out his back pocket and quickly wrote down an address on her hand." Why should I come, you could be a serial killer for all I know?" She questioned in a playful tone. He just smiled and pushed a loose strand of Rosie's hair behind her ear." You'll come, they always come" he said before he exited the bathroom." You wish!" she called after him but she knew she would go meet him. She walked out the bathroom not sparing a glance at The J-Walkerz and exited the Diner. The chilly LA night wind nipped at her face as she walked to her home. Maybe this mysterious yet handsome boy would get Rosie's mind off the upcoming war between the two gangs. In her heart she knew that both of the gangs would show no mercy.
